What if Singed ignored unit collision passively?(Addition to Empowered bulwark)

Blitzidious··23 votes·2,084 views

Would to dramatically change his position in the game? If so, would it put him in a state where Riot would have to nerf him? This isn't me saying he should ignore unit collision, but if he received a buff like that, how strongly would it affect him?

OR, would it be, I suppose, more balanced if his ult allowed him to ignore unit collision?

For those that may say this goes against his lore, yeah, I would agree with that. But an excuse for it being present could be his small figure, as he is extremely skinny, like, his body is thinner than fizzes head, and Fizz ignores unit collision. <--- Excuses.

I want to see the following singed buffs (I've reposted this a few times, but I'll keep adding to it when I see good ideas like yours):

W becoming an on-hit AoE Snare (and keeping it's persistent slow effect)

Ult allows him to ignore unit collision and gives Q %hp damage

Re-invigorate his "fuck this, imma run around you in circles" identity by both rewarding him properly for being in the centre of the enemy team, and allowing him to get there in the face of mobility creep.

The aoe snare is one I suggested in the last thread about singed. The % damage on his q when r is up is really good though.

It would be nice if his ult didnt cost like 150 mana

Actually that makes perfect sense.

It doesn't make sense that his ult costs mana and then grants mana regen, imo the mana regen should be replaced by ignoring unit collision.

If it proves to be stronger than it should, increase his ult's CD. <--- reason why this is very effective: Singed doesn't build CDR.

Nah, just wait. next time Singed is played in the lcs, Zephyr will be the first item to rush.

DrMundo ult sacrifices HP for HP regen...

His ult reminds me of Alchemist's ult on DotA2: it gives him ludicrous attack speed and health regeneration, in addition to some mana regeneration to allow him to make more liberal use of his stun and and AoE armor reduction/waveclear.

Singed's ult probably has mana regeneration for pretty much the same exact purpose. It makes enough sense to me, honestly. The curious point i have is that it seems kind of counter-intuitive to have both mana regeneration on his ult, while encouraging him to build huge amounts of mana so that the mana regeneration is kind of unnecessary past around level 8 when Tear starts getting stacks (if you went that route) or you have a Catalyst up and running.

I could see it being replaced by something like unit collision ignore, even if it would be a nerf to his level 6 pressure spike.

YOU BEEN WARNED1 votes

That's the thing, since tear is meta on singed then mana regen is pointless really. Especially when the player conservatively taps Q on and off for small "leaks" of poison.

... Even worse if Singed was to start flask.

I would love this on singed. It's so awkward trying to poison minions waves in the early levels because you have to walk next to the minions, and that just opens you up to getting attacked by your opponent

not passively. for his ult, definitely

TotalJerk3 votes

Everything should ignore minion collision. Dying/losing kills because of creep block is the single most infuriating thing in this game.

He's in a pretty bad state right now, and this would be a significant buff, but would probably not put him over the top.

Ignore Unit Collision + AoE Root on Gooey field

pls

Ignore unit collision? He's got a big ass shield! I would like to see him push folks away, not just ignore them!

Blitzidious1 votes

I actually agree with that, part of his passive could be that he pushes minions and monsters that are in his path, like, pushing them behind him.

ForPortal2 votes

Having him shove minions out of his way with his shield when he ults would look cool. So I say that one.

i never felt like being able to ignore unit collision was game breaking ;l rare times when theres a minon wall maybe

How about they rework him instead. Like, fuck.

Anidan7 votes

It'd be pretty damn difficult to rework him and keep his current identity intact at the same time. His entire kit kinda already lends itself to his identity, and his kit synergizes with itself pretty well, while allowing adequate teamplay between his Fling and Mega Adhesive. A rework isn't necessary, but he isn't in a good place right now.

missinggrave1 votes

I actually tried to think of a rework and the only ideas I could come up without would turn his identity into something totally different. Provided they would all fit his lore quite well, but they'd basically have to pull out a Sion in order to rework him and keep people happy. Probably be best to keep his kit the way it is and give it some QOL buffs such as ignoring unit collision or something to just ease his play throughout the game outside of, "Run and wait until you can fling something."

ItsStout1 votes

The thing is, a rework (not nessisarily Sion level, more like... Gragas? IDK, keep the identity with him) would likely be nessisary in the future. His Q is EH, and kinda can't be allowed to be strong. His WE may be wonderful, but his passive and ult are incredibly boring. Overall, people play him to either A) Proxy B) EW/WE thing, or C) troll. I'd like to think A and B can remain intact with a rework.

ItsStout1 votes

I feel as if the problem is his Innate, his Q, and his ult- they have synergy, but not really the healthiest of gameplay patterns, especially Q. Keeping Mega Adhesive + Flip is something I like, but giving him a new, visusually similar but mechanically different Q (keep poision cloud, ditch trail behind him) will allow him to be stronger. Changing his Innate and R feels also nessisary, and they are really boring. His WE thing is fine and cool though and keeping that as his core would be awesome.

but if he received a buff like that, how strongly would it affect him?

He would 100% put into a state where he's OP and would require nerfs, ignores unit collision in an extremely undervalued by players, and powerful thing in lane. He sits at close to 50% win rate currently, this would push him well over the edge to have it 100% of the time.

would it be, I suppose, more balanced if his ult gave unit collision.

Doesn't really make sense thematic why would it do that?

And his ult makes him slippery enough, he lose the tenacity from his ult because it made him too slippery to have real counter play and I feel this would the exact same thing. Hard to say how it would impact balance though.

thinking man1 votes

what if you want to block somebody so they can't walk past you

would only work for minions

Blitzidious1 votes

That's what I'd want, actually, just to be able to walk through minions.

Teridax681 votes

At this point I feel like champions ignoring unit collision are more of a rule than an exception. Putting aside gapclosers, which usually allow champions to travel over minions, most melee champions who do a lot of moving around minions have an ability or passive that lets them ignore unit collision (Garen , Hecarim , Kassadin , Fizz , etc.). Singed would definitely benefit a lot from ignoring unit collision too, though I'd be interested in seeing how the game would change if unit collision were completely removed on all lane minions and non-epic jungle monsters (melee champions would be able to reach ranged opponents much more easily in lane without having to burn a dash, for example).

Nameless Voice1 votes

I thinking running around minions (as opposed to through them) is a huge part of Singed's gameplay pattern.

I wouldn't be opposed to putting it on his ult, but he certainly shouldn't have it passively.
