Will tower plating shift the meta?

The preseason update talked about the upcoming changes to the towers: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/developer-corner/NPBRPjqf-preseason-dev-update-number-3

Long story short, it looks like tower plating is supposed to make them last longer. That should mean that laning takes up more game time, especially when the other changes to minions and major objectives are supposed to accelerate the late game and allow teams to close out leads.

Does that mean it becomes more important to pick a lane bully like Draven Lucian MissFortune ? I can see how more time spent laning can make more important to win lane hard.

Or does additional time to lane favor scaling champs like Twitch Vayne? If those kinds of champs can get past a weak early game, I can see how extra time to lane can let them hit their power spikes if they don't fall too far behind.

Perhaps nothing changes at all?

It probably won't have too much of an effect. Maybe this will slow down the bot lane gank meta a little bit, but it's not a drastic enough change to shift what champions are actually strong. The plating was added to avoid actually buffing turrets themselves, stats I mean. So as soon as those shields go down they'll all drop like dominoes anyway.

In lower elos, this should have a good morale effect. Hopefully I'll actually see some mages and tanks in my games now.

Riot's trying to kinda have it both ways, so really it just depends on the players. I believe both scaling and oppressive marksmans will be played.

Kaisa will most likely still be the best adc.

Ziggs might be picked more because of how his W executes towers. Depends how relevant the plating is tho.
