Annie has been one of the highest winrate champion in mid for a long time. She is easy to play, easy to pick up even if you first time her. You probably say she has high winrate but low playrate because the players who play her are really good Annie mains. I can tell you this is not 100% becuase the only difference between a diamond Annie and a gold annie is their game knowledge and awareness. Annie has low playrate because she is the oldest champion with the oldest kit just like Garen. You don't see many gGaren mains so you shouldn't expect to see many Annie mains. I suggest Riot give annie a rework to make her a healthy champion. If not at least give her slight nerfs such as mana regen, mana refund from q or auto attack range. I don't really mind her doing so much burst damage but it is actually a torture when you play a short range champion against annie as she spams her abilities with low mana costs and long auto attack range. I even played against an Annie top main in a d2 elo game, I was playing Darius and I could only farm under tower, even so I get harassed by her even if I just go for melee minnions under tower.

Because her niche is low range champions. Its a counterpick.

Also #1 mid winrate is untrue, shes second as of 9.2 with a less then 1% pickrate with a 53% winrate.

This means its literally just the mains. Compare that to and Actual champion.

Isnt that what boards want?

They hate champs that actually take skill like riven, zed, vayne, etc, the game would be the best if Garen annie and maokai were the best 3 champs in the game.

Which is of course completely stupid.

The absolute best Annie mains hover around 70%. In comparison, the best of Lucians are around 80, and the best of Gangplanks are around 60. Annie is in a good spot, and isn't played because she's a gateway champion in an aged game. 450 Champions were generally meant to be so. If you want to be that person who stuck with Ashe because the tutorial made you want to only play her, you go for it. But there's a reason almost all ADC mains gravitated to Lucian, Graves, and Ezreal. You just sort of are meant to evolve, and use FotM champions from the pool when they are beneficial to you.

No. Annie is meant to be a champ for new players to learn, that's why her kit is simple. And her kit is great right now, just like Morgana, which they barely touched because they knew it was a top kit that didn't need much work.

Annie has tradeoffs for her kit, that's why it's insane to play against but she also has clear weaknesses to exploit. Her lack of mobility is because she's a mage, and can be jumped on the minute her stun is down. Her low range can be exploited by picking a long range champion and poking the shit out of her.

She doesn't need any work, nor does she need nerfs. Just because you can't play against her doesn't mean she is overpowered or deserve the nerf bat.

She's a counterpick to short range champions. Duh. That's her strong point. Every champion has something they are strong at, so that was your fault for picking Darius in the first place. If you picked before her though, then that can't be helped but adapt to your lane, build MR and stay out of her range. Wait for ganks and jump on her the minute she uses her stun to farm. Bam, easy.

Any kind of assassin will destroy Annie in lane, and right now the midlane meta is overrun with them. Seriously if you have a problem with Annie, just pick an assassin and rush Hexdrinker and edge of night and you can remove her from the game.

I actually have little trouble as darius against Annie once I buy like one to two MR items

The idea that Zed, or just about any assassin for that matter, requires skill is laughable. Push three buttons and delete a champion, even without items, with no risk, and no real effort required. On a champion with ridiculous mobility, wave-clear, sustain, roaming potential and every other advantage. Just check the abomination of a tier list and see how they are dominated by assassins and like two champions that can counter them.
