URF

Does anybody else feel like urf is simply league played at 400% speed? Honestly I don't really see the big deal. 80% cool down - wooh?! The rest of the stats are practically identical just made larger which grants percentage buff. I don't see the point. Can someone shed some light on my confusion? I enjoy the rapid fire evelynn and Vladimir and sona, but attack speed champs and defensive based champs seem to be lacking in purpose.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I feel like there should be a buff for tank champions. Attack speed champs are still good you just have to be very practiced with who you're using.

Alistar is one of the most broken champs in that mode and permaban, pretty much any tanks with powerful cc abilities are terrifying because the cooldown is dramatically decreased but the duraiton stays the same, perma-stunning is really easy with multiple champs working together.

Stuns won't kill. Alistar is an easy target if you buy even the slightest amount of defensive items. I killed him with tahm kench by licking him to death while under leveled. I was new to kench as well so I was buying items that apparently useless on him according to my team. Things like phantom dancer and wits end.

One anecdote about an Alistar who's team didn't properly play around him doesn't change the fact that he's still universally considered perma-ban tier.

Still though - stuns and knock ups in general have lower damage per point overall. I'm honestly more fearful of assassins and mages who were meant to erase their opponents. Like zed, fizz, nidalee, swain, etc etc. Veigar who was highly ignored has an r that 1 shots any ability power builder lacking in magic resist.. Way way way scarier than perma stun morgana. Morganas Q isn't tracking. He can stun you and kill you by himself.

Champs like kog / trist/ sivir are very good at pushing on urf.

If you wanna afk push and win early, they're good for that.

People tend to enjoy the assassin and killing champs over afk pushers.

How does someone afk push? I'm sure I have a setting or something that needs to be changed to do that. I've been wanting to do it for when I'm shopping and such while out in lane.

There are double(or 1.5 for melee) attack speed, +25crit chance, 35% base tanacity, and a few other things like extra gold per 5 early game. It's nice for someone who is a support main to be able to carry games from getting kills instead of forcing others to carry.

Lulu was nasty to play against. Nami and sona teamed up and never died once. So yeah I guess that's true, but doesn't everyone get those buffs?

ShippoTail1 votes

Yes everyone gets those buffs, but as I was saying, URF is awesome because supports don't just buff other people, they can carry URF, hard. I wound up around 1800 MMR (at least thats what lolnexus was saying) and I think it was fun all the way through (well besides the 300% uptime on spin to win garen)

well... in reguards to the OP, those are things that typically help out ADC or attack speed based champions.

Oh and I did play pure tank bard, but if you want something scary look at Irelia or DrMundo 's tanacity (after they build MR boots as well) you can't ever CC them

BLACK REALM GOD1 votes

So it's the percentages that are pushed through the roof or is the tenacity the same for everyone?

ShippoTail1 votes

I said those to in specific because they have extra tenacity built into their kits (irelias passive, and Mundo's W).

But everyone gets all the buffs from URF, some make better use of some of the stats, like mages don't really care for crit... And the base stats of tanacity will go up, don't forget that its a unique passive, it stacks with what ever you already have.

oh okay cool. im not as familiar with mundo and irelia because i shy away from those play styles. im more of a teleporting assassin/global mage with how i like to play. that's why i prefer karthus and teleport and ghost as opposed to the traditional ignite flash - however if my champ doesnt have a teleport usually i take flash - it's situational and depends on my mood
