Cait vs most bot matchups

So on my last 2 games I got owned hard by a Lucian while I was playing and I was wondering if there was something that I was doing wrong besides getting counterpicked... at any moment he would dash forward and proceed to all in taking my health below 30% even without the help of his support, my supports well... they did what they could I guess (if going all in for the other support is what they're supposed to do...).

Either way I find myself to be very weak against most matchups when playing cait...

Against I can barely farm or risk him going all in on me, even under tower. Against I feel like I can't be anywhere near a minion or she'll poke me with a Q or E+thunderlord Against (yeah I can't believe this either, Cait used to be Vayne's biggest counter) she'll just Q forward apply 3 stacks and detonate thunderlord :S Against I don't have much problems... though when I play trist and there's a cait on the other team... poor cait.

So... Any advices? specially against Lucian :S

Farm at maximum range. You should be able to take out his siege minions from behind your caster minions. If he dives you, the minion damage should be enough for you trade. Place your in his escape path during his retreat. Using high caliber net when he dashes in.

At 650 attack range, bonus range from passive, no reason you should be AA range of anybody except Twitch KogMaw Tristana

Use your abilities defensively only and focus on farm.

You're fucked at least until 6.1 against Luce/MF because of TLords. Hopefully the buffs to everything that's not Precision will help. Oh, but you could try making them go OOM and then calling a gank. That might work.

Doublecheck your runes and masteries.

The good Caitlyn players will generally shove the lane early. When you do, you get EXP advantage for earlier level 2, minions to assist you in fighting back the enemy, easier poke with your 650 range, make it harder for the enemy ADC to CS, do damage to turrets.

The problem when playing Caitlyn is that when the enemy laner shoves at you it gets reversed. To avoid that, I recommend starting Q and then getting a point in your net at level 2 especially vs Lucian who is relatively mobile and can burst. The Q will help you shove lane and harass while the E will help you ward off any engages the enemy Lucian may try (also allowing you to headshot them back).

Even though this may help you get through the lane phase and Caitlyn is generally a strong laner from 1-5, post lane phase she is extremely reliant on her team.

don't all in him. Poke him and focus on CS. Cait will outscale Lucian, one of the few ADCs she actually outscales. If he makes a mistake, you can kill him easily from 75% HP with a net/Q/headshot then ult.
