How to get outta silver

Alright, so recently got demoted to silver IV from III. Just need a couple of tips of how to get out of there and into gold (at least). Anyone have tips for ADC, MID and SUPP? Mains and my problems with each: ADC Lucian (difficulty with being bullied in lane, and securing kills) Mid Ahri (feel as if not enough damage output at 6 still) Supp Braum or Thresh (warding placements mainly)

I just started playing ranked for real this season (I basically did only my placements last season). Started off in B3, am now S1 and rising.

  1. Practice CSing. If the enemy is not harassing/pressuring you, you should not be missing cs. Remember, being 30 cs behind is (approximately) like being down a kill, in terms of gold. If your opponent ends a game with 240 CS, and you end with 120, that's like being down 4 kills. It's a big deal.

  2. Practice not dying (if you're a carry. As a tank, sometimes you need to die). I've found not dying is as important as getting kills. When you die, you lose experience and CS. You give the enemy team gold, which makes everyone on your team weaker in comparison. And it's time that you're not pressuring for objectives. It's really hard to play a game with 0 deaths and lose. But, it's easy to play a game with 20 kills and lose, if you had 10 deaths too.

  • Don't stay in lane when you're super low. You're either going to lose a lot of cs because you're getting zoned, or die trying to get cs. If you've traded OK, odds are when you come back to lane, either they will have to go back to keep up with your items and full hp bar, or you'll be able to zone them, so it won't actually put you that far behind.
  • Don't get caught out. Wards help here, grouping helps here.
  • Keep an eye on your positioning in teamfights. If you're dying early, that's probably an indicator that you're too exposed.
  1. Objectives > kills. Taking a tower gives YOU about half the gold of a kill, but it also gives your team global gold, opens up more of the map (giving you better control over dragon, baron, and buffs), takes away some of your enemy's protection, and gets you that much closer to winning the game.
  • If you can get a kill while taking an objective, take it. But if they're low, take the tower instead of going for the kill. Sometimes they'll even try to defend the tower, and you can get the tower AND the kill.
  1. Warding OP. Pretty much the only role you can expect to ward at our elo is support, and even that doesn't always happen. If you, as the mid/top/jungler/adc ALSO ward, you're going to have better vision, and probably better vision than your enemies, and it WILL result in kills and objectives for you.

Getting caught out of position trying to ward is probably the easiest way for a support to feed. Use the buddy system, skill shots/Twin Shadows, or an allies Scrying Orb before face checking brush when there are enemies MIA. From purple side, ward that bottom brush from over the wall, and/or ward further up if they see you leave so when they Sweep it they find nothing and have to put a pink in the middle of the river to find it. Tell your team to make MIA calls even if they're unsure if they left, and to ping the enemy jungler every time they see him. Awareness is key to a successful and safe roam for warding and supporting another lane.

I don't think I'm gonna be helpful but I'll try anyway:

1 - ADC - Try playing champions that you're having a hard time against so you can better counter them. 2 - Mid - Rush Deathfire Grasp first, try to poke a little bit before going all in. 3 - SP - I'm not sure how you're having problems with warding placements when it's just a matter of putting them down. Please give a little bit more details.

when not support, farm better. when support, go for the face.

In both cases, do not tilt. I've a Silver smurf to be able to play with my silver/bronze brother/friends and honestly the #1 thing I see in silver is people splitting up everywhere for no reasons and tilting/blaming. There's no end to it and there's no way to play properly once you start that.

Lucian and Ahri are both lane bullies, if you feel weak in lane or early game you may be using some sub optimal runes.

For Ahri I use a magic penetration set, mpen quints, hybrid pen marks, armor seals and mr glyphs. If I'm in a more favorable match up I'll use AP glyphs and split in some mr seals to cover both defenses. If it's a bad match up I have armor heavy and mr heavy alternate page, too.

I don't play Lucian so I don't know much about that.
