I don't understand the hate towards vayne

At least now with the item changea and w passive change. Sometimes I want to play vayne but I don't knowing how difficult getting through the game will be.

With the w changes I consider it balanced, why? Because at most, let's say an adc, you would be doing 100 true dmg every 3 autos.

Her mobility is good, but when? In small skirmishes or duels? You're not going to be hopping walls like trist or ez.

Isn't her dueling potential what makes her unique? Even then, it's not something you can do with your eyes closed, specially against assassins.

Even then, other adcs can easily beat vayne late game. I don't see you complaining about luci being strong early, mid, and late.

Why the dislike?

Because there is no counter to % Max HP True dmg.

True dmg ignores armour. % Max HP means more hp = more dmg.

That is the only reason we, or at least I, hate Vayne. The rest of he kit is just her thing. Mobility, adc, stealth.

thats because true damage IS THE COUNTER to hp and armor not the other way around.

Yes true dmg IS the counter to hp/armour stacking tanks. True dmg based on % MAX HP is ridiculous overkill. Making Vayne deal a flat true dmg would solve that issue.

No, flat true damage is just the counter to armour stacking tanks. Building HP reduces the effectiveness of true damage.

Let's say you have an ability that deals 500 true damage. Against a tank with 2000 hp and 300 armor, it deals 25% of their health bar. Against a tank with 4000 hp and 100 armor, it only deals 12.5% of their health bar.

And why hate the true damage? A full item Mundo and the most I've seen myself do is 495 true dmg. That's someone that build full tank and guess what? That's what w is for. The most it will do to a squishy is 200 late game and that's barely anything when at that point you are Critting for more, which isn't unique to vayne.

The dislike comes from the preconceived notion that % max health true damage is inherently bad design and overpowered, (which it isn't, especially in the format of Vayne's 'w') and that most Vayne players want to be Gosu, end up failing plays and being BM/toxic

Vayne, even when she was strong or better always had issues in team fights due to her low range, (kit and auto range, the "but her auto range is normal?" argument is silly) the problems haven't been alleviated and her lane compared to other adcs is pretty awful right now

This season I think it has more to do with TLD Vayne which is annoying because its procs at the same time as her W, turning a balanced champion into annoying snowball early game in the right matchup. Max salt trades that weren't all-in that I've ever seen.

I've yet to see a tld vayne after fob got buffed. Even then, someone like luci uses it far better.

Well you use it with a TLD support that also uses it well, I don't see it too often. It does salt me a tiny bit the first time I get chunked.

I love playing with, as or vs Vayne. I don't care what other people say, she requires a lot of concentration and knowledge (especially in this current time, where she has to be more competitive than when she was in late s5). It's satisfied to use Vayne correctly and outplay opponent or see the ally doing well with her. It's also a pleasure to vs a Vayne that rekts an ADC for precise position & timing; she's the least frustrating ADC that I have to face in terms of getting rekt.
