I'm awful Ranked Support Main

I failed, I'm awful at the game, supports cant carry the game. Support shouldn't even be part of the game. Watch as dedicated supports leave the game all together, and all your que times are over an hour long. I'd like to see that. Did I use to be good? idk.

People have this mentality that there should be individuals who carry every game, and the team doesn't matter. If you can't carry, you're useless. That's the mindset. In truth, individual players carrying the game should be occasional and accidental.

You're right, it's going to drive more and more supports away. As it is, it's hard to get a game if you queue as anything but support or fill because supports are in short supply.

People who think like that should probably go play fighting games or something. It's fine to feel like that in 1v1 games. But MOBAs require teamwork for a team to succeed, so until they put aside their individualist mindset, those people will continue ruining games for their teams.

Overall supports need more love. And Riot's near-constant throttling of the role suggests some deeper, subconscious reservation than they're willing to communicate. We're still not getting the love we deserve while they slowly remove some of the more fun elements.

For starters, make SightStone the Supports Machete. If you're the support role, just give it to them at the start of the game. Build in some MS to it and give us a fighting chance to be the roaming vision-machines we're supposed to be, but you won't enforce since "we don't want to enforce the meta"

Your lack of enforcement is the grave my people will sleep in, Riot. DO SOMETHING.

I can win 3-4 games strait in ranked as a Support. But I can have some really bad teams too that don't listen to anything.

Sometime, I feel that when I am warding in the jungle and my team sees an enemy there, they are rushing to them and ... Getting kill by all of them. Like why ? I don't really understand this mentality tough. XD Wards is to warn us about enemy no to rush to it. No ?

Thank you for the tips for warding Mig89 ^^

I'm going to assume that is sarcasm, but in case it isn't....

deep breath

Supports carry the game in their own special way. They require more split second decision-making, multi-tasking, and shotcalling/leadership skills than any other role for you to be able to climb. Supports carry via information. We are essentially like a +30 IQ buff toward the rest of the team.

Don't believe me? Well, I did manage to solo as a support main all the way to plat so far this season. It isn't impossible if you try hard enough.

I can confirm this. I think i've recently got a lot better with decision making and shotcalling and ive risen to silver 1 in about a month from being stuck at silver 5. I've been warding and calling out objectives and locations a lot more and have had way better individual games abd its so easy to snowball when you communicate. Telling your JG that there will be free kills in X amount of time because you know they will push up is an example. Telling the jg you will help with dragon if a botlane enemy died or their JG is another example. Spam pinging danger when your toplane is pushed and doesnt see the jg coming up the river. 9/10 im watching the minimap more than my lane unless were about to trade. I also almost completely stopped warding that bush in bot river. Its almost pointless. I ward deeper up the river because if someoen is at that bush its usually too late.

I climbed from Silver 5 to Plat 5 solo in a month and a half. :3

I have to disagree with you, but I guess it really does depend on who their jungler is. Since many junglers can just cross into the river bush quite easily and avoid that deep river ward altogether. Also, you generally need to have an idea where the jungler is at all times, rather than assuming he can gank at any time. You always want vision of their jungler, so deep wards in their jungle are always important. There are actually a couple good pink spots in the jungle where the enemy will never find them. And also, if you spot the jungler from the ward instantly (assuming you ward at the very back of that river bush), then you can get away just fine. And since you generally know when the jungler is gonna gank, you let your ADC know to be careful and stay around middle of the lane for a minute until the jungler moves somewhere else.

I swear, my ranked games have literally turned into a "track the jungler" mini-game.

I agree. Ive come to spend more time trying to know where their jg is nowadays and its helped tremendously. Warning others or setting up a kill lane/backing up when you know theyre coming is helping me a climb a lot. my "deep wards" arent as deep as you'd think. I just put it left of the bush and up a tad so i can see them coming from the tri bush sooner and i can see towards dragon pit entrance almost. I treat anytime i dont have vision as if there was an enemy standing in the edge of the fog at all times unless i see them in another lane. A support's job is not to protect the adc. Thats secondary or tertiary. Yesterday i had an adc ask my why the river wasnt warded and i asked if he seen the two wards i placed initially. He said yes and told me to tell him when he needs to ward.. I did but i also let him know he can't have tunnel vision into just cs'ing for the first ten minutes. He didnt get mad but seemed irritated that i asked him to ward. This conversation started because i pinged danger in the river just because we lost vision and i had a feeling the jg was incoming. A few seconds later we got ganked, i had already backed up a little to throw some cc is they did gank, and he died. I can only do so much when it comes to shotcalling and they will either listen to me or not.
