Why should I even play this game anymore?

-Diana is considered garbage tier and i don't know why. I haven't seen her once this season and when I played her I was told to learn a real jungler. Guess who I was suggested by the way.(Answer at the bottom, Let me know if you can guess one of both of them)

-People will find the theme of a champion to be amazing and want to try it. Only to realize that Olaf and Eve aren't actually good at doing much. You build damage on Olaf and your teamfight is a joke, Build full tank and you get shredded by an adc hoping that your team can make some magic happen. What about Katarina players? How do you think we are supposed to adjust now that we will need to build AD and magic pen? It's bad enough that the last 10 champs released have an option to either shut down Kat's ult or get out of range in a hurry.

-The jungle is ungodly difficult for most junglers. How can you expect somebody to play that role if they don't have a full armor page? New players will want to leave any game they take smite on because it's that difficult.

-Assassins don't exist because you gave them other qualities such as mobility and wave clear and took away the ability to assassinate. Take away DFG and somehow in the 5.2 rundown claim that you don't hate assassins. What nerve.

-Champs change direction and that is fine. Cass is ok and some are happy with the changes but you didn't need to make talon a wave clear and teamfight machine. How can that possibly be his intended role? He is listed as an assassin. Mages are the new assassins. Doing a single full combo from any burst mage will kill an adc. This gameplay design is retarded in a competitive game.

-Now let me explain why Riot philosophy is garbage. You take Assassins and you tell us that ''you like counterplay to their style.'' Well that's fine but you took away Talon and LB's lockdown and left them with qualities that aren't fit for assassins. LB's ult change gave her far more sustain and Talon was left with wave clear. So how does this concept fit with your latest Zed change? You nerfed his right click by 1%. Riot's balance team makes me sick. If you want ''Counterplay'' as you so claim nerf his energy regen so that laning against him isn't stressful at every moment he walks forward to last hit or change the mechanics of Zed's ult so that he can't counter the counterplay.

-Summoner spells are too cut and dry. Don't tell me they aren't. So many fights based around whether or not your 6 minute CD is up or not.

-The meta is strictly enforced by the playerbase and if you're last pick prepare for a game of suffering because you're going to be support or jungle and you're gonna like it because your team will make everything your fault if you don't follow their game. And this isn't even some outlying games. These circumstances are normal and happen in over half of my games regardless of a win/loss. This meta is also enforced by ranged AD carries having the most cost efficient items in the game, Dragon being more important and easier than baron, having smite as a summoner spell. Solo queue is masochism like no other game I've ever played myself.

-There is one more thing I've been reading about and this is really how I arrived at my thread title. Riot allegedly wants to have all of their tournament games filled with LC$ big Play$. Unfortunately the tools champs are given become completely inept and worthless as their lifespan goes on. Nerf this slow and 'tweak' that damage. Take away Fizz laning power and load it onto the shark. Give that mage more auto attack to compensate. So now even the best of the best players sit in lane and farm because they can't do anything until somebody leaves lane or a jungler appears to break it up. You know what happens when a team breaks up the meta and does something so crazy that the audience is on the edge of their seats watching to see Smite Heimer stealing the opposing jungle's red buff and four of that team pushing middle? Well let me tell you this new strategy was not encouraged. T1 and T2 towers got massive buffs against early pushes and to allow for game stalling. So everyone go back to your own lane. You need to herd minions for another 10 minutes. So think about that next game you play in the mid lane and how much fun you're having when that Fizz chews down 3 biscuits while you last hit minions waiting for an opportunity to run to another lane for a big play kill. You can't kill him by yourself. In fact you can't push him out of lane. Even if your jungler comes he will slip away. Your whole team will be farming for at least 15 minutes. With the current Hell that the jungle is the most likely odds is that your jungler is underleveled anyway. Where's the fun in that?

And the answer is---> (Lee Sin or J4)

I can't get out of LoL atm because

  1. The amount of time I have invested in makes it hard to simply get up and get out.
  2. The people I befriended (or maybe not just my imagination) with on LoL.
  3. For OCE players there aren't many MMOs that actually cared about us, I really hate ping now having experienced OCE server.
  4. I am a video game cheapo I don't have a solid capital on games so I like games that either are free or don't cost a lot, but I hate p2w.
  5. I can't really be bothered to go into a new game atm now even if I could, unless all the people I know somehow transfer over with me which is unlikely.
  6. Real life starting to kick in so I don't get a lot of time learning new games either, I like more fight oriented games with more pvp focuses and so far I have yet to actually run into one that fits all/most of my categories.
  7. The biggest bane, my computer sucks but it can run LoL fine, give me most games besides 2D and age 5 years or older my computer would apologise to me.

You're looking for HotS.

HotS runs horribly on potatoes, idk what you're talking about.

And it's a trash game. And that's coming from a Blizzard fanboy.

HotS is not good, but it does a lot of things right. It is not good in spite of its gameplay decisions, not because of them.

I hate playing against an enemy Diana jungle, she's super strong.... I don't know why anyone would say she's garbage tier. Also Rito's game is perfectly balanced in their eyes, other than the already nerfed champions.... better nerf them more so the big LCS plays champions can only get stronger.

DanofDemacia1 votes

Diana is trash. I love her but shes terrible. Her burst is subpar she has no tankiness for a fighter and no gank potential untill 6 and even then its not guarenteed.

I guess shes changed since last time I seen her (awhiiiile back)

because the game is really fun and riot is a quality company doing their best to make decisions that affect the game in a healthy manner over the long run. Also, there will always be champs that tend to do better than others. Given the current trend of picks (what is popular bot top and mid) j4, lee, reksai, and rengar are doing the best as junglers. If different picks show up elsewhere you can probably look for the new stronger jg picks.

I lost my will to play when everyone but me has free get out of jail cards, being able to be out of position and still get away because of bullshit mobility that i can do nothing about.

Meanwhile i die instantly for messing up once if i dare to play 75% of the cast.

Seriously, outplaying Zed, only to have him completely negate every single mistake by jumping over a wall gets old after a while.

The Katarina changers never even saw the pbe, and they have decided to not go through with them. Don't act like they are live.

The meta promotes toxicity and unbalanced game-play as a whole. If you decide to play a support in the top lane, you are quickly decided to be a troll and gives the right to the ALLY TEAM to troll you. If you do anything out of the ordinary and it just doesn't work 1 out of the hundred times you play it, it is because of that specific champion being a specific place, not because you were out played by the enemy player. To be blatant, League of legends has about 20 viable champions as of right now, this list getting smaller and smaller and smaller because the balancing team is comparable to the game "I am bread."

Stop forcing the meta, stop making champions specifically for the meta, stop removing champions out of existence with reasons that only the balancing team suggests and not the community, and finally support DIFFERENT play styles! I'll supply you a couple of reasons that don't quite make sense to the balancing team, tell me they know what they are talking about.

"Professional players pick champions that are unable to be countered or have close to no weakness" Not a direct quote, you get the point. Janna mid was considered to be overpowered and unbearable to nerf . . . no weakness? REALLY? How about no realistic damage capabilities and no map pressure for the mid lane as a whole, how about it promoting team fights instead of running in instakilling a squishy because that is definitely appealing to watch! Matter of fact, this contradicts the reasoning to not nerf Thresh and lee! These champions are considered kings of their roles and have been ever since their launch, Riot are you going to continue blatantly contradicting this shit or do you want player base support to continue to decline?

Soooo.... are you done playing this game? Just wondering lol

When I want to play a game to stomp scrubs and win I go to Dota 2. My ranking on that game wasn't placed in bronze. But in all seriousness I hardly played the game last season either. And this season trying to play 'ranked' is a complete disaster. But to answer your question. I'm done playing today yes. Maybe some other time.

Orbv1 votes

I understand your pain. I played 5 ranked games in 5 different days for my placements. I never...NEVER had a team of 5. And whoever took ADC was always the one to leave or troll. Idk what happened to the Gold players I was playing with in Season 4, but placements paired me with silvers and bronzes (Like Bronze II and Silver IV when my MMR was well above that), and by the time I finish my 10th, I'll be in Bronze after starting in Gold III -_____-

EpikFeeder1 votes

Realize that there is a huge amount of bronze 5 scrublords with gold banners for the rewards. What you are experiencing is the boosted trash tier players playing their games way outside their skill level. I went from gold to bronze 1 from placements....getting toplaners where i out cs'ed them as a support (im not joking). To me it doesnt matter because over time i will rize to where i belong, but yes its annoying to have such a huge gap in skill level, because the game is usually a stomp one way or another.

Don't forget the long-standing game-breaking bugs that Riot doesn't fix (mostly), matchmaking issues, and afk/dc/etc that Riot does next to nothing about. This game is such a great idea underneath, but Riot keeps piling on layer after layer of problems.

I don't want to answer all of this, but I agree that often happens that Riot have pretty garbage game philosophy. Diana don't belong to the jungle. Maybe in some rare cases when it is worth getting sustained damage out of her, otherwise, just build some mana, some resist and AP oh her.

ImHerVoice1 votes

lee sin and j4 aren't hard to play low. both have a low skill floor. And you dont have to play them rammus/fiddle work just fine in the new jungle and they scale up.

i think we all know they mostly care about the LCS that's where a lot of there money goes to and so there just trying to milk the shit out there LCS games.

I like the meta right now. It is really favorable to tank aoe junglers atm. Sure champs like j4 are strong. However aoe tanks can still clear fine and walk out usually ahead then their bruiser counterparts.

RogueWill1 votes

I love jungle, I don't struggle anymore, granted I did struggle for a couple of weeks but now I have found the masteries, runes and path that allows me to clear it without falling unfixable behind (mid game I still struggle to keep levels with the solo lanes but most of the times I'm higher level than bot) Then again I have main jungle since Season 2 and I jungle around 80% of my games so my understanding of the jungle is not something considerable "average".

Riot said he wanted longer games so the teams could achieve the 6 items dreams build and such he has done anything on his power to stale games. Not long ago dragon second buff was causing the teams to shift from early game to mid game sooner since you suddenly had more pushing power, how was it addressed, the dragon buffs were shifted now you need 4 dragons to push more efficiently.

If you go Diana Jungle you are not expected to gank until 6 at least (Flash+e gank is possible prior 6 but then you have no escape in case of counterjungle) and she can clear the jungle without a full armor page (try magic pen marks, ad quint, armor seals, and magic resist per level silph) you also have to take her abilities (W-Q-W-E-Q-R) and from there on max your Q, a single point if W will be hard to sustain in the jg. You also have to keep in mind that you have to add crabs to your path. Since riot said they doesn't want jungler to snowball early game (and diana can't anyway) she should recall once she is 5 so she can upgrade smite and take full pots and boots. It takes some practice and a few times you get executed but onc eyou get the hang of it the jungle feels smooth (much more insolated but smooth)

As for Olaf (I'm not fan of eve) I build him similar to darius, get hydra if im ahead on lane or sunfire if I'm behind, then omen. From there you probably shoudl consider portal since you will be splitpushing most of the game and maw if the enemy ap is fed or ahead.

Assassins do exist, because Zed exists. Riot wants Zed to be the only assassin left in the game!

Gray Fanchon1 votes

My suggestion: main jungle Diana. Figure out what works about her, what makes her good, then get really good at using that. Then when someone suggests using the more conventional picks right now, shrug and play Diana anyway. If you let other people tell you how to play a video game you're gonna have a bad time.

You only need armor yellows. Bring potions if you're having trouble. Try Team Builder if you want to mess with the meta.

If you're not having fun with the game, alter what you are doing until you do have fun. League's a pretty flexible game.

Sailor Eariz1 votes

I agree. I main Diana, but due to the meta cheese I have to stop playing her and play Vel'koz mid more often. She's underwhelming pre-6 and has a 30% gank/kill potential pre-6 as a jungler/mid.

Also, in order for you to rank up you have to play the meta champs and I don't play any of those due to obvious reasons. The game is pretty boring lately to me, so onward to Dark Souls 2.
