Why is being minion blocked by your own creeps a thing?

Okay, so my question is why do my creeps feel the need to block me during a chase or getaway. Before answering, yes I have experienced it before, no it did not recently happen with me so I'm not posting out of salt levels rising, and I'm only curious to know.

Like, Riot changed the first wave so you can't collide with them to mess up their pathing and end up with a good freeze in front of your turret as your first wave. This minion collision problem has showed it's head before in more than one way so why not implement this with all waves/minions on YOUR team only?

Because then something like Janna's W gets nerfed, something like PD gets nerfed - and basically for no reason. Minion is a physical thing that sits on the rift. That's why you can get minion blocked on it. I feel like "minion block" seperated boosted apes from serious players. I can't imagine situation where u get minion blocked "by accident". If you walked into minion wave - damn, sorry, but you went there so expect some troubles. .-. I don't see issue here

It's not just minions, this game has collision. You can't walk through walls, you can't walk through players, you can't walk through monsters, you can't walk through minions, you can't walk through summoned units, etc.
