Why is rank queue set up like this?

Here the thing, I have really enjoyed alot of the changes that have come to rank. I have been playing league since 2011 and a huge fan of the game. However, this last season it placed me in iron 3 I went okay well shot to the gut. Been silver in past season so I went okay grind and I got all the way up to silver 4 promos when the season ended. I was like sick see I am about silver (which means, yeah you trash I get that.) But hey when ranking started and I queue up start working on my placement again and you put me back in iron 2 wtf is that!!!! Seriously let's slap a long time fan in the face. I was expecting maybe bronze but iron two after I just spent a whole season getting out of there. so you put back with players where you literally have to just be the best player and win because no one in iron knows how to play like a team or peel or defend or go for objectives. Like it made a long time friend who's been there since the start basically want to put the game down permanently because again there was no feeling of reward. And a feeling of a whole season for what nothing. @riot that was just horrible rank placement and I get there a formula and all that stuff but again I was expecting maybe bronze but not iron not a whole two devisions down from where I was at. I would strongly recommend putting something as simple as in your ranking that you cant start your placement more then 1 devison down. Now I havent finish my placement but that was just dumb.
