So, we just want Blitz/Leona/Thresh to be the only viable supports now officially?

Okay so Sona, you could justify her nerfs somewhat by saying she had the highest win rate. While skewed by the people playing her most likely maining her since she was played a third of the times that Leona and Blitz were.

So how are we justifying Soraka's nerfs? The past week she has been bouncing 49%

For those who don't know. Soraka's nerf on the PBE:

Soraka

Equinox (E) cooldown increased to 24/22/20/18/16 from 18/17/16/15/14

Soraka base damage 50.04 from 56.04

Which for those not aware, that is her silence. So the only real defensive option she has unless you count her q slow which is unreliable at best compared to Leona's dash.

Her win rate is jumping around 49% while Leona and Leona and Blitz are at 52% constantly.

So what is the justification for this one? Cause 6 seconds on a character's only defensive tool when she already gives up her own health to heal seems really crap when she is almost always under 50% when two of the most played support picks, Leona and Blitz are hitting dramatically higher play rates and are over 50%

For those who don't want to look Soraka's play rank in solo queue is 4% compared to Leona and Blitz who hit anywhere 20% to 40% a day.

Traditional old supports be damned is what I am getting from this. I assume Janna will be next.

I don't like this because at least sona and soraka were supports you want to focus unlike the other supports that you just ignore, added a different dynamic to team fighting.

Nami, Soraka, Janna, and Braum are viable supports. With Kalistsa coming out even Ori can be support.

A lot of the "Sona mains" I keep hearing from HATE the reworked Sona and no longer play her. Regardless of who's playing Sona, she's still very strong.

And do note that Soraka's base damage reduction is based on the pre-season changes, NOT LIVE.

Every Soraka I encountered up to now (since rework) was a free win for us (against Soraka)! The rework was pathetic!

I don't understand why Riot would rework what were in my opinion, the pure supports. I think that Riot and others tend to favor these 3 over others because of their abilities to make amazing plays, while the pure supports (except sona) really couldn't do a whole lot except provide sustain.

Sustain was too high in the bot lane. Sustain champs got nerfed along with Life steal. Pretty much Bot Lane was too hard to kill early on due to sustain supports and too hard to kill mid/late due to lifesteal. If anything, this allows Poke supports like Lulu and Zilean to be better after dropping off the radar in season 4.

Why Blitz is still really good bot lane at lower Elos, Thresh can be dealt with if you have enough Poke and Leona is useless if you put pressure on bot lane early.

soraka's strength comes from her low cooldown heal in fights. the silence is rarely cast more than once in a single fight until the later stages anyways, at which point the difference is pretty small anyways.

silences are really strong in that they prevent summoners and active items in addition to abilities. i have no issues that riot is regulating this type of cc.

also you forget champions like nami, janna, morgana, and braum who are very strong supports in their own right.

Sona, Soraka, Nami, Morgana, Janna, Braum are all completely viable supports.
