This is what happens when Riot listens to the community.

People were tired of stall comps, so Riot has steadily weakened towers so that stall comps are significantly harder to pull off.

People found the games were dragging on too long, so Riot made the games faster.

People wanted an end to a tanky meta, so Riot created the exact opposite type of meta.

People disliked soloqueue, so Riot's changed that as well.

People complained about warding and the struggle to remember their upgrade, so Riot gave a version of the upgrade for free.

People felt that top was too isolated, so Rift Herald was implemented.

People viewed ADC itemization and playstyles as stale, so they revamped them entirely.

I'm sure there's more examples to be given, but the point is that Riot has given us the things we asked for. It might not be in the exact specific way you imagined it being, Riot heard our wish and granted it. Maybe next time we should be a little more careful what we wish for.

No, shut up, the community is never wrong and never ask for any of these things.

Sarcasm.

Champions are never overbuffed because of forum QQ either Veigar, never Lux ever, not once TahmKench has a champion ever been buffed to being too strong after being whined that they are too weak, just Riot's fault.

"People" represents a small portion of the League community that you chose to mention here to prove your point. These are not even the most popular viewpoints I've seen over the last few months, and many of them I have never even heard of before.

I'm not saying your point is wrong, by the way. I just don't like how you're saying it, since you're generalizing over the entire playerbase.

I expect that the Riot balance team listened to player input and made changes based partially on that input.

However, they chose which concerns to listen to, and what changes to implement; it is both possible that those concerns were wrong and that the balance team chose the wrong changes to make to address those concerns.

I'm pretty sure all of us never even suggested riot remove mana pots because they were unbalanced and too op for the game. Silly move riot some of these changes and explanations for the changes looked like the game developers went to work high

Blaming the players for this S6 mess is like giving a child a bottle of bleach when they say they're thirsty, and then blaming the child for the trip to the hospital.

who the hell above silver said that tank meta was bad, games were too long, top was too isolated or stall comps were bad? Who wanted an ADC buff that wasn't a silver or bronze that admitted they couldn't kite and facetanks enemy assassins)?

You forgot one more.

People used to complain about Rito always nerfing the stronger champs, so they buffed the weaker champs which is something the playerbase actually requested.

Now people are complaining about that.

People disliked soloqueue, so Riot's changed that as well.

Who actually wanted dynamic queue? Over the last several years I can count the number of threads for people wanting 3+ in ranked on 1 hand and none of them retained positive upvotes. I can't even begin to count the number of people wanting solo queue to be truly solo.

Dynamic queue is all Riot and their obsession with pushing premade teams and playing with friends down our throats. Likely to keep people from quitting which is a problem they don't want to admit. Hell over half the friends on my friends list are inactive.

Riot should let challenger and master players from each region test out new things and they should let them judge. The majority of this game is in bronze/silver/gold and I dont think we can actually balance the game lol.

I exactly remember the moment Darius was on the pbe, most people on reddit and here said that he is too weak and that Riot destroyed his early, meanwhile pants are dragons (na challenger jungler) said that he was brokenly op.

BTW it's fucking preseason just chillax plebs and wait.

I wished for none of this.

This is so accurate, it hurts.

Alright, say someone asks you to make a poster for an event. You agree, then a week later show up at his house with the poster. Said person takes it, and .... It's horrible.

Now in a normal situation, most people would say "you asked the wrong guy". Which isn't wrong, but in Riot's case, it simply doesn't work that way. Riot is the only one that can answer to people's feedback and ideas.

Forums might have asked for less stall comps, shorter games and whatnot, but that doesn't mean it's been done correctly. And in this case it's perfectly acceptable to call Riot out on it. In fact, they want us to do so. They might not answer much, but our opinion of the game is still important to them.

Also, a lot of the more annoying changes were actually uncalled for. Mastery changes, mana pots, sightstone nerf, even the tower nerfs (though I have a feeling that's more of a "change went bad" than "we just nerfed it") are examples that come to mind.

Personally as a support main I'm mostly pissed about the sightstone nerf. Having only three wards every back rather than 4 is extremely annoying, as warding both Tri and dragon basically means you either give up the lane bush or sacrifice dragon (as I'm not gonna let Tri unwarded). Pinks are fine, but some supports are better at protecting them than others, and matchups can make defending one impossible to begin with.

And what did we get in exchange? Being able to fuse it with our gold gen item? Would be sweet if we didn't lose the item active. Apart from frost queen, both FotM and Talisman are waaaay too good to pass up on. If anything I'd have merged it with Trinket : Yellow : Wards regen naturally (1 per 2 min so you still have to back) Red : If you mouseover your character while "dropping" a ward it activates the true sight aura temporarily Blue : Lets you drop a Blue ward if out of normal ward range but in the blue trinket range (Maybe give some buffer range so players don't accidently drop their blue ward for clicking a bit too far out of normal ward range, but not a core necessity)

I dunno if they nerfed them so junglers wouldn't buy them, but nerfing it doesn't solve the problem. If anything, they should have buffed both jungle monsters and items so that rushing sighstone would make it almost impossible but buying normal jungler items would keep the current level of difficulty.

People were tired of stall comps, so Riot has steadily weakened towers so that stall comps are significantly harder to pull off.

I honestly can't remember any post that complained about stallcomps within the last season... And even if there was, i'm pretty sure that the comlains were more 'longranged waveclear is to easy' rather than 'thos towers are to strong'

People found the games were dragging on too long, so Riot made the games faster.

It were very few that complained about to long games...

People wanted an end to a tanky meta, so Riot created the exact opposite type of meta.

there were more (upvoted)posts that expressed how happy they are with tank meta, and even more posts that pointed out that tanl-meta is not a meta in which tanks are dominant, but a meta in which tanks are finally relevant

People complained about warding and the struggle to remember their upgrade, so Riot gave a version of the upgrade for free.

nope, they gave the same free upgrade that always existed and had it scale with ranks rather than happening at lvl 9. the new yellow trinket is about as good at lvl 18 as the old was with it's free upgrade at lvl 9. The old 250g upgrade provided about twice as much wards as the new one does at 18....

People viewed ADC itemization and playstyles as stale, so they revamped them entirely.

main comlain was that they all boil down to AAs lategame, which diminishes the value of what their kits give. -> changes all items to crit, a stat that only amplifys AAs, no more pure ad-caster built with ER+LW+BT+Trinity for a really abillity foused playstyle, no more runaan's + BotrK drain builts that work without RNG, and alot other classes sufffer alot with those item changes - prettymuch everyone who doesn't want crit suffers actually...

Everyone just whines about things that counter their main. Like "Boohoo just lost to insert meta here in a ranked nerf pls"

It's like a damned Monkey's Paw. Giving the people what they want, but finding a way to do it in an evil manner. Why the removal of Mana pots then? even with the base mana increase on Ziggs, I still find it hard to preserve mana for him. I end up needing to base three times early-game just to regen mana, & it's Quite contradictory to have people play safer in-lane to preserve mana (Which makes game a little longer) & what-not, but want to make game shorter.
