The New Traditional Trundle Splash Art doesn't reflect the champion model.

Here is what Traditional Trundle looks like in game: http://imgur.com/18gqm5p

Here is the new splash art: http://imgur.com/jA0MoqO

As you can see, the model contains areas on the face, arms, chest, back and legs where exposed muscle is visible, while in the new art, Trundle looks perfectly healthy and powerful. Without it being labeled as a Traditional Trundle splash art, there's no way to know it's a splash for that skin, because the two look nothing alike.

I think Riot should change the skin to more accurately reflect the character model and here's why.

1) Precedent. In the past, Riot has been willing to change splash art, or character models, so that expectations for the model and splash are equal. The most prominent example I can think of was back when Jinx was being released. Her character model's face was horrible, and Riot fixed it, because the model failed to meet the expectation the splash created. So, why change the splash instead of the character model? Well... 2) Target Audience. This skin is meant to represent Trundle as who he formerly was. It's a skin that only former Trundle users are supposed to have, and as such, we want him to be gross and missing flesh, and everything that visually prompted a rework on him originally. That's why the splash should change rather than the model changing. This new splash doesn't look bad, but it fails to meet the intended expectations the audience has for the skin. 3) Standards. The whole point of Riot updating the splash art on various champions is to not only unify the art quality of all champion splashes, but to ensure that the art lines up with the champion itself. Splash art is supposed to reflect the champion fantasy, and the skin itself. Creating a splash that fails to meet the fantasy, or reflect the model, is simply failing to meet Riots own standards for what a Splash Art should be.

I do like the new art, but when I first saw it I honestly thought Riot had decided to rework Trundle's lore so he was aztec themed rather than from the Freljord. This splash art looks nothing at all like the trundle I played in the ssotp days, and I really hope Riot respects the players this skin was intended for, and doesn't force this splash on us.

I agree.

They should change the model to better reflect that awesome splash art.

I wouldn't say he looks perfectly healthy on the splash art. Looking at the splash he does actually miss some skin around his eye, chest, right leg and right arm, just like the ingame model. It's just that its not as vibrant as the ingame model and because of the shadow it is barely visible

Not to mention that the spot on his abs is missing

Well, consider that

  1. The chests of both are disease-ridden the same, only that on the model it mixes up with the beard and meshes up the colors a bit and seems he has more disease, while on the splash is clearly seen how much he has behind the leather strap
  2. His whole right upper leg has no skin in the splash, and is very clear and visible
  3. The postules and the uneven leg makes me think everything but healthy
  4. Only thing i agree on is that the face is too much shadowed, and it does not show well the scar there ( which is there, you can see the face "eaten" by half )

Plus, even if the ratio is not the same, splashes are not supposed to be 100% equal.
