Isn't it 'bout time Galio had his kit updated?

I think galio need a little oomf, personally I don't he's a bad champ I just think his kit does too many different things making him great at nothing and only a niche pick. Not to mention he has the lowest pick rate.

1. He is supposed to be an anti-mage with his MR to AP scaling however he, just like Kassadin, is a melee champ but unlike Kass has no gap closer. So in lane he gets poked down real easy. Also, his trades eat up a lot of this mana making laning phase annoying. The mana problem and being melee makes csing against mages (who he's supposed to counter [ I think :/]) can punish him heavily for csing. And if he chooses to use his Q+E to clear waves he runs out of mana super quickly.
2. His ult, First let me say I love Galio's ult and even if they update him I want him to keep is ult. I think the idea for his ult was supposed to be him trapping mages and soaking up their puny AD attacks then unleash big domages. I like this, but decent mage players will stay out of his range. Barring team fights, the only real effective way to hit your ult is to flash ult. Another problem is Galio needs to be relatively close to hit his ult and suffer physical damage but he's a MR tank, I find this so contradictory.
3. Playing him as a support, good idea but has terrible mana problems.
4. He has a terrible pick rate and people mainly pick him when opponents have a have high Magic damage team. I don't like the idea of a champ only being strong to counter certain teams. I don't have a problem with them having strengths against certain match ups to. Galio is supposed to be a mage killer and I assume thats why people want to pick him however there are better options than Galio, there are Assassins who can gap close 100-0 squishy mages, or other champs with more reliable tools to CC or close the gap really quickly and lock down or kill mages and still have a flash to spare.
5. Orianna basically does Galio's job better than him albeit having a higher learning curve.

• She has a shield for her allies that gives bonus armor and magic resist. She gives less bonuses but her has a lower cost, lower cooldown, larger range AND can do damage.

• She has an AOE skillshot like he does but with lower costs and a much shorter cooldown and damages all enemies it passes. Galio's has more power though and a slow, but Ori has a slow on her kit though.

• She isn't even melee and her basic attacks does more damage than Galio's.

• She has a skill to speed up allies just like Galio's, with a higher cost but lower cooldown pre 5 points invested.

• They both have an ult then can immobolize and deal heavy damage to the opponent's team, Galio traps enemies longer but Ori has the luxury of being able to use hers at a safe distance.

I love Galio and would love if you guys could spice him up. I think you have a lot to play with, Galio is a MR tank Juggernaut and the only champ like this.

I have a few suggestion that can possibly help Gal

1. Lower his costs they are too much. He is supposed to counter Mages but he is punished when he plays against them. If you don't wanna lower his costs, you could add a passive somewhere on his kit similar to maokai, where he gains mana everytime a skill is used within a radius around him. I think this fits with his theme and makes him stronger against enemies who cast a lot cementing his identity.
2. Some kind of skill that transfers all 10% of all physical damage he takes, to his magic resistance.
3. Some sort of buff to his melee attack or a reward for melee attacking, he is the only melee mage without one. Ekko, Kass, Diana and Fizz are some example with the only exceptions being Rumble and Galio.
4. He could have some incentive to build armor. Can his Bulwark transfer some of his MR to Armor or the other way around. I understand though that this can make him over powered.
5. You can try to shift him into more (not completely) into a support with a combination of 1. and giving some Morde love and when he uses his W have it also atack to a nearby champion.

I think he should still remain immobile and keep his ult and turning MR to AP I think those make Galio himself but desreves and update.
