How do you play Poppy aggressively?

After getting reported now for the third time because people don't think I'm playing Poppy correctly, I think it's time to ask just how to play Poppy aggressively.

I really have tried. I've played against Poppy players who wipe the floor with the other team. But the recommended items for her aren't helping me. I've read some guides for play style and itemization but I'm still not cutting it (hence getting reported for bad play. How do I know? People tell me in the game that's what they are going to do.)

Poppy doesn't seem to be the damage dealer I thought she was. But if I stack a lot of defense, I keep being called out for not doing any damage. Half and half doesn't seem to work either. Frankly, I'm getting tired of being reported for this. False reports or not.

Any suggestions?

I'd recommend Black Cleaver / Ravenous as a first item, followed by a Deadman's Plate. Deadman's works great with her style of play and a combination of those items will give you an amazing midgame.

Always look for opportunities to slam them into a wall. From that point, just use Q, auto attack a few times (preferably with sheen proc.), then use W to either run or chase. Also, you can use an uncharged ult to simply knock them up, instead of away.

Ignore the Poppy builds. There is only one true Poppy build.

item 3748 item 3078 item 3742 item 3094 item 3031 item 3111

Your first attack if you activate Titanic Hydra and press W will be a 700ish ranged slowing shield throw for around 1600 mixed damage. You do lots of damage and can take quite a bit of damage before going down. You're fast because 4 movement items. Seriously, just try it.

play poppy in the jungle, go skirmisher > warrior and then:

E (in wall) > Q > smite > auto > ult.

they'll die mid-air with the true damage ticking.

Trade when the passive is up. Hit the enemy with the empowered AA , pick up the shield and start trading and/or farm, when the shield blow off because it is has been damaged and your damage abilities are on CD back off (save W for a safer escape), then rinse and repeat if you have troubles in walking to pick up a shield save the passive for killing a minion, so the shield automatically gets to you. if you need more range on Aas you have quite some options other guys have mentioned

At some point you are going to outsacle anemy and you can start trading more aggressively, especially if you can hit the stun and force the enemy to fight withoin your minions or in your tower range or setting up a gank with an ally

Yes, hitting terrain with the E is important. It requires some good positioning. I need to practice that.

Ale, the shield throw doesn't always come right back to you when you hit a minion. I can confirm that for sure.

One thing I'll add. Yes, I'm not that good with the tank type characters. But I've got to figure out how to play them if I want to get better / defeat them.
