how do i into shaco

I def chose the wrong time to pick up shaco, but i was just wondering how one would go about playing shaco in the current jungle. build paths and runes? jungle clears? i feel sluggish compared to other junglers. also, can we have an indicator of the "backstab" hitbox becasue sometimes i hit people from the side and get the proc, and other times i hit from the back and i dont get it also or
