Ekko isn't the problem, it's his matchups. *IMHO*

Let's face it, Ekko is much better Top or Jungle than Mid. As far as I know, he doesn't have many favorable matches against ranged mages in the mid lane. He's been seeing extensive play in the top side as a tank/bruiser champion, completely 180 of what he was intended for. It's because of what his kit does that makes Ekko a great tank or bruiser. He is very sticky and has a on-hit missing % health passive, which is great for killing all targets. His identity is meant for the mid lane, but it doesn't work effectively. First of all he is a melee champion, making him vulnerable to ranged champions. Secondly his obvious opener is his E to get into melee range. That obviously has disadvantages. Why beat him with the nerf bat so you can force him to play in a lane where he isn't effective? It's just no fun. His problem is that the lane opponents he goes against can't compete because they are weak. Does anyone share the same thoughts?

i say embrace the tank ekko cause he has far to much utility to do aburd amounts of damage (by building ap). Id rather deal with the tank build than someon who can oneshot you and your whole team cant kill him cause he just ulti's away. Of course im biased and hate assassins and anyone whom can do things like this i.e. Leblanc zed

the problem IS ekko. his damage, his mobility, his CC, his effective health, it all goes against what riots definition of a healthy assassin IS. Gut ekkos base damage, remove the three hit passive and its movespeed buff/debuff, remove the double dash on his E, and youl have a healthy champion.

Okay maybe not gut his damage but the other things.

Yes, Ekko is the fucking problem. His slow percentages are fucking absurd. His speed boost is fucking absurd. His kit is everything cancerous about Udyr, Leblanc, and Mallet Teemo rolled into a single champ.
