S rank factors?

How did I not get an S rank?

What are the qualifiers anyway? I'm not sure, but someone suggested it was the lack of damage? Despite the fact I got 9 kills, Sona is more of a support (though can do tons of damage of course), I feel like that'd be saying "as the tank to get an S rank we need to you to deal more damage instead of taking it!" So, there'd be a lack of consideration for role-specific factors there.

Anyway, question still stands, a bit confused here. Its just an ARAM game, I know, but that's not the point :B

sona is balls easy to rack up KDA when you just spam your abilities and tags all members in your team, so basically any kill you get a point. That score there isnt even that high

The biggest factor in getting an S instead of an A+ is how well your champion is doing overall. It compares you to everyone playing that champion in that role, so if the champion is really strong or overpowered, it'll be harder to get an S since basically everyone performs well with them.

Hence, a stronger support will be harder to get an S. For Sona in particular, who can get assists with her auras, this is very prominent.

For the reverse case, the likes of Nidalee can even get S's with a negative KDA (with enough assists) because she's just that bad.

Not even the biggest factor, it is literally the only factor =p

Grade = how well you do compared to other people playing the same champion, around the same rank, while taking into consideration length of the game.

Hey, it's the biggest if it's only one. I had to say that to my first girlfriend, too.

If everyone does well with a champ, you aren't going to get a high grade just for doing well. You have to do better than most people who play that champion in that role (since it's ARAM, they might ignore the role aspect, but this is unconfirmed; different builds might trigger different role categories).

Here's an old thread I posted a few years ago: https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/hYTXYyGh-upset-andor-confused-that-you-didnt-get-an-s

The Grading system turns a single game into a competition on two separate fronts.

  • Your end-of-game stats are your performance in that game against the other team in the same game.
  • Your grade is your performance in that game against people playing your champion and role in other games.
