The pantheon rework actually does look balanced to me.

Let's be real here, people are a little skeptical over his e being able to block stuff while dealing damage to enemies in front of pantheon, and his ult happening sooner. But reminder that he doesn't have something that makes him op He doesn't have infinite dashes like some sekiro wannabe. He gains higher effects only if he reaches five stacks, which is more than most kits that usually trigger at around 3-4 stacks Also, his ult has a few unique ways of being able to be dodged, such as seeing where he initially lands, or the direction of the hilt of the spear. His e is probably the biggest part, he can move with it and it can block projectiles WHILE dealing damage. However, he can only block in a single direction, so if you can get behind him he cannot block your attacks, like king k. rool's counter in smash ultimate. So take the syndra ult back in his gameplay trailer, if pantheon were to cast his in the opposite direction, syndra's ult can nuke him for a lot of damage skill. But, only time will tell, at this rate it comes down to stats.

His E still worries me alot.

Yes, he "just" blocks all damage coming from in front of him and is still vulnerable on his back, but it isn't necessarily easy to reach his back. Take your Syndra example, she has no means to do this realistically. She has no mobility to get behind him and her CC doesn't help her switch places with him. "If Pantheon were to cast his in the opposite direction" is not really a proper argument, since this is basically saying that the counterplay to this spell in this situation is that Pantheon is misplaying....

With the ability to block everything, even tower shots, I can see this spell becoming a balancing problem in skilled hands. Time will tell. Also, I think it is weird that they kept one of the most frustrating parts of his kit, being a point&click stun on a basic spell.

He has a better shield than Braum. That does not look balanced

Here is the thing, braum and yasuo have barriers that can block ranged projectiles for their team, pantheon's is only self centered. However yes he can jump in the way of an ashe ult to block it for their teamate, but still... it's not that wide of a shield.

he can also be cc'ed regardless if the shield is up whereas Windwall negates it altogether

q just does a bit too much damage, if it hasn't been changed since the last time i saw a pbe clip

5 stacks is extremely easy to get though, especially when he immediately gets 3 stacks back from an empowered W.

Honestly, he does look a little overtuned.

Let's remember though, that the PBE videos aren't really showing even match ups. There's usually a large skill gap between the streamer and their opponent and on top of that the streamers are only uploading the games they win/stomp so we don't see new Panth when he's behind or getting destroyed.

As much as his kit seems overtuned, it still looks like Pantheon. He has huge power early and wants to make the same plays, use the same tactics, and build the same items. This rework really feels like a success to me - they preserved the feeling of Pantheon while giving him modern spells so that he can compete with new champs.

I'll say that I'm tentatively impressed with their work on him. I won't know for real until I face the new Panth but honestly, the way you play against him seems to be unchanged. I really hope that if my bae Garen ever gets a rework they do it in the same manner as this - no radical changes just a modernization of his current kit.
