Playing Ahri, I once tried to use Charm on Caitlyn's ult bullet.

The worst thing was that split-second realization of "WTF AM I DOING!?"
Worst case I have seen is playing Zilean, and I ulted Kayle, as I didn't think she had her own ult up. She did, and she used it just as I ulted her.
Then she used Zhonya before either ult effect had worn off.

this could actually turn to an outplay. like for example theres 5 people coming after you and you get ulted by bard (or if you are bard) along with the rest of those 5, but before the ult hits you zhonyas. This allows you to freeze earlier and unfreeze earlier too, making a bit of time for you to escape after you unfreeze since they would still be in stasis by bard ult.
Double gold! Your body may be able to handle just one layer of freezing gold, like Zhonyas, but can it handle two at a time? Will you die from the body not being to handle the extreme suffering because the Zhonya makes it hard to breathe?

well since bards ult can trigger dark harvest, there is a chance zhonyas makes you avoid death :D

while not ideal, zhonya does last less time than his ult, so it would let you move before anyone nearby unless they didn't get caught in it
Funny meme, but in all seriousness it can be the right solution. That quarter of a second adjustment to the timing can be just what you need for the perfect play.
