Plat 1 tips?

Is there some sort of trick to getting into D5 because I am not seeing any success and I'm starting to get pretty frustrated. I seem to go on either heavy win streaks then heavy loss streaks right as I'm in promos or possibly go 2-3 on them.

The problem you have that is holding you back is your mindset. You are so fixated on diamond 5, maybe you feel like d5 is really good players or something. Focus on improving your game play more to a master tier level(obviously easier said than done) than worrying about winning a couple games just to get diamond 5.

I get that it's a big milestone. It is. You should be excited about hitting it, your approach seems wrong though. Think about the JOURNEY not the destination, you will climb because you're truly a diamond skill level and not just because you got a little lucky.

Remember this, the game play difference in skill between p1 and d5 is nil. You've reached high plat, almost d5, it's time to really take a look at refining your game play, not making those dumb mistakes that you know you make every game but do them anyways kind of thing. Shoot for playing the game PERFECTLY and you will just keep climbing.

My coach told me this last season when I was stuck p1 : The only difference between you and a d5 is a lucky winning streak. So if your goal is to just get d5, it will come with time. However, if you want to get higher, I do not know the answer since I never got there...

ChickenWrap, is a man that did like 20 or so series between plat 2 - d5 losing all of them then still paying. You just gotta grind it. Meanwhile, I am here sitting at my p5 refusing to play ranked.

Ricardo is right, the only way to CLIMB is by playing an entire tier above what youre playing at. If you aim for being 10% better than everybody, you are at the mercy of RNJesus team forging. You need to set your sights high and try to play PERFECTLY. Do you know what it means to play League of Legends perfectly?

My advice from a 5 minute look at your op.gg:

  • Learn how to make better map rotations. Your cs is very low on average, if you want to win consistently in high elo you need to develop a consistent play pattern. CS never changes so get used to making decisions around cs and objectives.

  • When you fall behind you don't always recover the best. I don't want you to be going 10-2 after starting 0-2, but you've only won 1 game in your last 20 that you were even or negative KD wise. You don't have to carry every game, I can't tell you how many times people camped the shit out of me and I still won as 1-5 because of objectives/rotations/better team play.

  • You seem to be really afraid of dying to the point where you are consistently building defensively every game. Sometimes you just need to do as much damage as possible so that your team can focus on protecting you, or cleaning up after you get killed.

If you want more in depth analysis post a game on Youtube of a close match and throw a link my way.
