Just going to come out and say it: I hate ADC's in general...

This is supposed to be a game of strategy and skill or at least that is what I would like to believe after all this time playing it. However... what really grinds my gears is how ADC's get the majority of their damage off basic attacks which can never miss. I realise that every ADC is different but they all revolve around this concept. Their positive attributes are supposed to be;

  • consistent damage during a fight

However why do some ADC's like Graves have better burst damage then a lot of mages do? Why do some ADC's like Kalista and Lucian have massive mobility and safety built into their kit. If their weakness is supposed to be that they are easily burst down then they should not have additional mobility to help protect them?

ADC's like Ashe and Jhin seem more balanced to me because they don't have any natural mobility requiring their support to protect them however Lucian and Kalista and Tristana and Vayne do not actually need their support in most games because of their own ability to keep themselves safe.

So why bother to protect them. I know the meta is usually both a support and an ADC in botlane but why do they need it at this point in time? League has changed as a game when Riot did the infamous "Marksman update" and now a lot of ADC's do not actually require a support due to their ability to stay safe on their own. Corki is another example of this.

In my opinion, ADC's are just poisonous to the game as all they are required to do is get into attack range and fire auto-attacks, their abilities themselves are just icing on the cake for them. I am pretty sure if Riot removed all their extra abilities (barring their CC or Escape mechanics) then they would still be viable regardless.

I bring up the example of SMITE, which is another moba however in this, ADC's (Called Hunters) do require a level of skill because they need to aim their auto-attacks as well as their abilities which means they can miss, increasing the outplay potential against them. I just do not see why basic attacks should always hit regardless of what you do.

Some tanks do more damage while building tanky... Some burst mages have crazy peel potential. Some ( most ) champions have an exagerated strength and weakness unrelated to their role. Every role has those champions. Yes an adc gets into range and autos, but you get some cc on him and he's useless. Ever been chased by a tanky damage dealer with heavy cc that can outrun you, and you have no time to melt him so you must run and auto with no peel as a squishy ADC? We got our problems too. You hating on ADCs looks like you had a bad run in with some. Balancing is allways a WIP but i think ADCs are in a relatively healthy spot.

As long as the most effect way of taking towers is ranged physical damage, adcs will always be relevant.
