I still don't understand why ADC item cost changes took this damn long.

Literally could have done it at any point in the last 3 months that people complained about Crit itemization being dirt cheap for all the scaling it gives. It's stuff like this and the Ardent SEASON that makes people say things like "Bot Favoritism" and I don't even know how to defend at this point. Yeah they FINALLY increased the item costs, but simply put it shouldn't have had to have waited till mid season. It easily could have been applied earlier as at least a bit of a bandage for the "Bot Lane decides everything" meta. Worst case scenario: Crit Carry ADC'S start scaling later into the game LIKE THEY SHOULD and more laane bullies like Draven would have appeared. Just ridiculous.

Sona becomes OP due to indirect buffing

Immediately nerfed next patch

ADCs are deciding the game entirely

A season goes by and they arent nerfed yet

In the last 3 months?

This should have been done last season

Also known as blatant favoritism.

Looking at these changes, and the patch preview, I get the feeling the goals for this update have shifted. Originally, we were promised an update that would try to diversify bot lane, but as it happens it feels like we ended up more with an update that aims to diversify marksmen, as happened before with the Marksman Update. The actual class nerfs are blanket numbers changes that we could've seen much sooner, but also all late-game buffs (marksmen get 8 more base AD and 108 base health total, which more than compensates for the loss of 5 armor, 2 health regen and 4 AD at level 1), which stands in stark contrast to the mage nerfs, which have all had a clear negative impact on the class. Whereas mages were largely considered balanced, however, even by Riot, who only nerfed them to try to open mid up for assassins, marksmen have been largely considered too strong, including in the original post that announced their changes, so it concerns me that these changes not only took this much time, but are still oddly generous in how marksmen are being nerfed. At the end of the day, the focus on this update isn't simply on stat changes, but on item reworks that try to give marksmen more playstyles, including some early game-focused power with Stormrazor (which itself is already apparently making some marksmen OP on PBE). Marksmen will still have more stats, as well as cheaper and more diverse builds than before Preseason 6, and even before then they were still so strong as to be mandatory to every team in every game, which is why I doubt these changes will truly nerf marksmen, let alone allow non-marksmen to lane bot.

Probably because this is the exact change they made when they had to buff ADCs in the past. They lowered the itemization costs because crit adcs were complete shit. They took too long to come online. People like to forget how it used to be. Before all these crit changes, you were basically trolling if you thought you were gonna take some kind of scaling ADC into botlane. There is a reason there was ADC memes. You might come online 25-30 minutes into the game but by then the game was over.

It was not fun. Thats why the meta was nothing but lethality users and utility ADCs. Champs that were useful on 2 items or just added utility to the team, like Ashe/Varus/Jhin etc. A large portion of the champ roster was garbage.

I dont even know if the cost is the real issue here. IMO, its the damn zeal upgrades. The amount of power Shiv/RFC give is crazy. Take the same ADC, and give them runaan's/PD or something and see the difference in power. Shiv critting for 450 magic damage should have never stayed as long as it did, and shouldn't have stacked with RFC anyways. I dont even know why RFC adds extra damage considering the range increase either. Couple that with them also boosting fleet footwork(I'm pretty sure the more energized procs you get, the faster they stack). So you got RFC/Shiv combo supercharging the Fleet Footwork charge, too.

People are hardcore focusing on IE when the real issue, IMO, was the Zeal items. The difference in an ADC who doesnt go RFC/Shiv is night and day.

Are you people high? Jungler is deciding who wins, bot lane is won by who gets ganks more. Pretty obvious from playing and watching streams. Also not to mention mid lane ganks and the occasional tp from top.

People will still bitch when adcs start popping off in the late game, just watch

Well i think the answer here is they didn't really want to go back to that time where playing ADC was the most grueling, unenjoyable, unsatisfying role to play since everyone else had their fun throwing their skillshots and spells around while you were there farming, waiting for that 30 minute mark to get your items so you can hop in the game too,but the problem is most games were already over by that time,or you had 5 more minutes or 1-2 team fights to go before the end,i main adcs since S1 and i know how bad it was when the crit itemization was too expensive,at least if you're talking about scaling adcs, but thats why Jhin Lucian Draven MissFortune were played alone with utility adcs like Ashe Varus cause they could either utilize lethality or just had a good CC.

What happened now is they nerfed item 3147 which means its no longer as Viable on lethality ADCs as it was,so they had to think of some new items before they made crit more expensive so the ADCs could do something early and i think the new item 3508 and Stormrazor are just that, along with the lower price of item 3153 item 3072 its like they're giving more ADCs options to go for their first one or two items before going into crit, which i think is a good compensation, you don't start scaling as fast as before but you're not out of options.

I can't wait to try out Stormrazor,it will be a good first item on Draven Jhin MissFortune Lucian Caitlyn ER could be used on Lucian Ezreal Varus Ashe So as i see it you have an option to go for your item 3031 item 3087 item 3086 Or item 3153 item 3508 item 3072 Stormrazor (one of those as your first item),and then go into a item 3087,it may be weaker then item 3031 item 3087 but im guessing that by the time it takes to finish those 2 items,an adc that has Stormrazor,Botrk or the new ER can wreak havoc on the enemy adc and secure the lead

i like how ya complain about this, but don't realize it going to make your games much harder now with the new changes and Bot lane might feed alot more now then you think

Seriously, at least placebo changes, like +100 gold on zeal items would at least be an indications that Riot is aware of the problem and want to fix it. Even something as small as this could have some impact. 100 gold for a zeal item is 1 minion wave = 30 extra seconds needed to stay out in the open and take risks. 200 gold for 2 zeal items.

Something as small as this would just go a long way.
