From a Kha'Zix main with over 200k Mastery Points

As a a Kha'Zix main with over 200k Mastery Points let me say this:

I used to have a lot of fun with Kha'Zix, especially old Kha'Zix, cause believe it or not but he used to be one of the most balanced assassin's in my opinion. Garbage at teamfights, but good at picking off isolated targets. If you died to Kha'Zix it was because you made a clear mistake. You were pushing a wave all by yourself, facechecking bushes, or haven't bought any armor yet, or he was 20 - 0 and 3 levels up on you, etc. There was always something you could take away from it. It wasn't the rework with new Evolved R that put him over the top. Is it unfun to play against? Oh yeah no doubt. What put him over the top was that Duskblade synergizes ridiculously well with him. So much so that he basically became a Duskblade bot and HAD to build it. And with his rework Riot had made it so isolated damage did less and base damage on Q and Passive did more. A clear mistake. And he got to the point with Duskblade where I just wasn't having fun anymore cause it was just so damned easy to kill people, isolated or not. And I'm sorry if it sounds like bragging, cause that's not my intention. The latest Duskblade nerfs, along with the buffs to his Isolation is actually a good thing. I know it's probably overwhelming right now, but I can't do anything about that. But what I CAN tell you is that Riot is pushing, slowly pushing, him back to the spot where he used to be. Terrible at teamfights, but good at making picks on isolated targets. "What about his Evolved R? That's broken!". I agree having near permanent invisibility is pretty damned strong. My thought for a solution to it is that maybe Riot nerfs the cooldown on his bushes so they take longer to reset. Or make it so that the bushes grant him 1 second invis instead of 1.5 seconds. Or maybe make his R Passive on bushes grant stealth (which can be seen by control wards) instead of invisibility. Just something that can give the opponent more opportunity to actually see him. To summarize: As a Kha'Zix main I agree he's too strong right now and it actually makes him less fun to play as, because I feel like my skill expression can't be seen with him simply because of how easy of an assassin he is now. At this point I wouldn't mind a revert. But be aware that Pre-Rework Kha'Zix actually dealt more burst than current Kha'Zix does because his Q used to scale WAY harder. He dealt more burst in isolation at least, otherwise current is better. What do you non-Kha'Zix mains think? What could be some FAIR nerfs that won't kill his viability? Or do you think he should straight up be reverted?

R evo is a large part of what makes him overbearing, I agree. The fact he can get perma-stealth via his R and enough MS makes it exceptionally hard to deal with him. Making his R evo grant Camouflage would do a lot, because it fixes him in several ways at once.

  1. Pinks can actually spot him potentially on some of his easier bush-links, especially on red buff side jungle which has so many bushes as to make it extremely easy to chain through fully invis.

  2. It actually gives you a chance to respond to the fact that he is on top of you with his R evo, because of the camouflage radius. Not him coming out of stealth and chunking you without you even knowing he was there, without him even needing to blow an important cooldown to do it.

Yeah exactly. And people are already used to having to buy Control wards against Evelyn to see her post 6. It'd almost be the same thing.

I like your ideas and add these.

  1. Change his passive damage buff to an execute. Kha’Zix’s abilities deal percent missing health damage against isolated targets. This change would keep him from snowballing out of control when ahead but also ensure that he remains dangerous even when behind.

  2. Change his invisibility to camouflage when he’s not using his ultimate. More stealth in exchange for a long cooldown might be fair. Perma-invisibility Is not.

Yeah, just give him camo instead of invisibility, and I think he’ll be balanced.

I would hope so, or at least tone him down a bit.

Honestly I just wanna feel like I can show my skill on the champ again. He's way too safe for an assassin with Evolved R as is. There's supposed to be risk and reward to an assassin and I miss that feeling playing Kha'Zix.

Hmmm I feel like the idea of him having an execute might be hard to balance. If you're 0 - 3 by 20 minutes then does a Kha'Zix really deserve to still be dangerous? I don't think it's a terrible idea, but we gotta be careful when treading the forgiving nature we extend to assassin's. After all, they are supposed to dominate early, so if they fail to do that than theoretically don't they deserve to lose or feel weak? Just food for thought.

Changing his passive to an execute would let Kha’Zix always feel meaningfully ahead or behind without ever feeling terrifying or terrible. His assassinations would also always take a while against full-health opponents, encouraging clean-up play over one-shot hunting, because of his passive’s reliance on missing health damage. Here’s an example of my idea.

Passive - Unseen Predator Kha’Zix does 10% percent missing health bonus physical damage whenever he hits an isolated enemy with a damaging ability.

For example, if an unsuspecting Jinx wandered into the enemy Jungle while Kha’Zix were there at level 9, then if she had 500 current of 1,000 Max health, then Kha’s passive would grant him 50 bonus damage on his next ability, for at least 150 total bonus damage.

The new duskblade is definitely the reason he became broken tier (idk about when he became OP but duskblade started all of it). However, I think that khazix has the issue where he lacks counterplay now. Before the rework, his kit had too much counterplay and it was all about getting a lead early I think (speaking from experience from facing him). After the rework, he has no counterplay post 6 with evolved R due to how stealth works. Imo, the stealth that he gets from the bushes from evolved R shouldn't be a thing on his kit since it makes evolving everything else worse. It could be changed to bonus ms from bushes but the stealth he gets from bushes + the ms makes warding against him a lot harder.

The rework of his passive scaling was the "start" of it...

I think his Evolved R should grant Camouflage so that way you can still ward against him. We've gotten used to having to buy Control Wards Evelyn. It'd be no different.

It wasn't for you. Over the past couple weeks I've seen multiple Kha is broken posts. So I figured I'd throw out my opinion from a Kha'Zix main's perspective on how I feel his current state is, and how we could maybe fix him.

he makes comments that do not need to be posted, and therefore wants to unleash his frustration on other people by accusing them to do the same

I don't know man I have hardly been playing assassins at all lately since I play so much support since nothing is more aggravating to me than having a bad support on my team.

I disliked that they took away all of his AP scaling except the AP scaling on his heal on his W. So basically, he has scaling for half of one of his abilities, out of 5, including passive. If you're going to take away so much scaling, might as well change the final AP scaling number to something else, like AD or even lethality.

As for the damage numbers and Duskblade...well, I don't particularly like new Duskblade, but I've seen one good suggestion for changing it recently, something on these boards like getting a takedown refreshing its cooldown for the damage.

They seem like 2 completely different champs aside from "They both one-shot people". But unlike Nocturne who announces his to-be assassination attempt both visually and audibly, it's hard to see a Kha'Zix coming unless you're in base. Although Riot buffed Nocturne for what 3 patches straight? I'm sure it doesn't matter too much that you announce it anymore. 😅

Noct has cc spell shield attack damage and attack speed buff, can move through cs. Kha needs you to be isolated for damage . Also reduces vision of all champs on the map.

Rank goes to show that you're good at how to win games. You could have somebody play Kha'Zix tank to diamond, simply because his game knowledge is good enough. But it doesn't mean he actually knows the ins and outs of the champion. People do this all the time, play something seemingly troll, but simply because of their game macro, they make it to diamond. Mastery Points go to show that you've played that champion a lot so to gain knowledge regarding everything on the champ. I can speak for matchups, jungle clears, itemization, combos, special interactions, how to play a fight, and so much more that somebody who were to pick him up for the first time couldn't. Me saying I have 200k Points on him doesn't mean I'm a Kha'Zix god and my opinion should be considered above others. Just that I know a significant amount of knowledge regarding him, so I feel I can give a more educated piece of discussion to the conversation.
