Let's talk lee sin

first of all i wouldn't call myself a lee sin main but i do play him a lot.

why do i play him a lot? he's probably the funnest champion to play in the game, big flashy skills that look great and deal tons of damage, high mobility rewards good plays and his ultimate has a lot of utility and looks amazing.

However one of my favourite champions its on the Hate spotlight from the comunity.

why is this? excesive mobility, too much damage, too strong early, too much utility late, he is too versatyle, has no weaknesses. All of them may be valid points, however on my perspective (i won't deny i may be biased) this is not such a problem. First of all my highest concern is Riot deciding to nerf Lee's mobility, that would totally ruin the champion for me, take all the appeal out of it, what next? number nerfs? i wouldn't really mind if he lost some of his power, i'm sure that faithful and dedicated lee players would still manage to squeeze out a lot of wins on utility alone.

Now personally, knowing the champion pretty well and having played a bunch of games with him, i can assure you he has weaknesses, his early game power is nitigated by good vision and smart play, a team that won't overextent, with some CC and a strong jungler, namely J4, will starve me out, leaving me standing only on utility and Q% damage, upon reaching level 6 i would attem a gank kicking my oponent towards my team, however this cannot be done with support like thresh or laners like Leblanc, it wouldn't be a good idea to kick renekton towards my team.

I won't answer to blind hate, i may be biased, i repeat it again.

this account is a leftover from my transition to another area with less ping, please do not look into my match history, you wont find a thing

what league am i? not really that important, i'm sharing my point of view, but if nessesary i'm gold IV

I don't want lee sin nerfed into kha'zix status, i mean kha is still userful and my favourite champion, but i do miss that % damage on his Q

I have some Lee Sin games on me and this is what I found.

The problem with Lee Sin is that he can duel virtually any jungler. If you can catch the enemy jungler out in the early game you can easily duel him 1v1 and shut him down. His damage spells all have very impressive scaling and, on top of that, he has a huge damage disengage if things go sour. Since his Q is % damage, the damage remains relevant throughout the whole game even if he doesn't build damage.

Also, his passive works brilliantly in duels as well. As long as you keep using your abilities your DPS will almost always be on top of the enemy jungler because of that attack speed boost. Coupled that with an E that also deals magic damage and scales 1:1 with your bonus AD, I find him to be one of the best duelists in the game.

I cannot think of anyone that can absolutely outduel Lee Sin as a jungler. He has high base stats that innately gives him an advantage when fighting other junglers. Also, junglers like Jarvan have to go all-in to do their combo while Lee Sin has his W and ult if things go sour. His main initiate is his Q and he can choose whether or not he decides to make the play.

I'll admit he is a fun champion to play because he has very high potential but there are problems with his kit that can make him overbearing for other junglers.

EDIT: Even at level 3, I think the biggest asset that Lee Sin has that allows him to win every 1v1 against any jungler is his passive. That 40% AS buff works very well when he's spamming all six of his basic spells.

Like Pantheon, Lee has one of the best level 3's of any champion considering that he has 6 abilities to use as opposed to the 3 that is traditionally seen on other champions. Theoretically, the only junglers that I can see go well against Lee Sin pre-level 6 is Fiddlesticks or Udyr but I have never tried that matchup out so don't take this as a fact.
