Kha'zix, isolation, snowballing and why he's probably the worst jungler at the time
well riot, it has been a long time since you decided to kill Kha, a painful long long time, you may think i'm biased and a Kha'zix main and you may be right! however, i play and enjoy a lot of champions but i've never enjoyed a champion as much as i enjoy Kha'zix, since i started playing, probably 2-3 years ago, i've played Kha'zix everytime i can, mid, jungle even top back in the day!
even when he was nerfed to the very ground i still played him, when his playstyle changed i was there to try and Bruiser'Zix, when his W no longer cleared waves and he was considered trash, guess what? i was still playing him, i got flamed many, many times for picking Kha mid or jungle during that time, my first skin? Mecha Kha'zix
However kha is, right now, on his worst moment, i would say that he's probably the worst champion of them all, he can't carry, can barely assasinate, he doesn't have much sustain and here i lay my question: what do you want me to do with this broken mess? this has gone so far as me considering quiting league or just quiting Kha completely, its just not worth it, even if you snowball there is little you can do with the gold, putting pressure on bottom lane is quite literally your only option, most midlaners can burst you extremely fast and you stand no chance against any of the champions in top lane these days. His only good side is killing dragon moderately fast, however, Master Yi, Lee sin, Jax or almost any other jungler can do this as well, and most of them "evolve" into Devourer monsters before you get your third evolution, and god, they just need one.
Kha needs his target to comit not one, but MULTIPLE mistakes, he has to be away from allied CHAMPIONS and MINIONS not on full HP and have lower than average itemization, or they have a good chance of outduelling you.
What i used to like that got removed?
- Versatility:
Kha is right now just an assasin, confined to the jungle and incapable of performing even moderatelly well in any other lane ever, you used to be able to go mid or even top! a powerful top bruiser with a strong roam and a scary shadow over the entire top lane and mid! your reach even extended to bot some times! now? he's FORCED into jungle FORCED to build the same items over and over FORCED to deseperatelly try to snowball enough to be of some use before your time expires, that point where the teamfights start. By this point if you don't have at least a 2 Item lead on the other jungler you're USELESS. Teamfighting time is a nightmare for Kha'zix, no one will be ever isolated and even if they're isolated and Juggernaut or a Tank focuses on you, you're powerless to do anything and they will destroy you no matter what you do, going invisible? too bad it doesn't give you any defence, Garen, Darius, Annie you name it, any aoe will destroy your squishy bug rear.
2)Evolutions:
any Kha player already knows this, you're FORCED to go E<-->Q->W . Why ever take your ultimate? 1 more second of invisibility? over a TRIPLE W? why!? the ultimate evolution is WORTHLESS and you're always FORCED to take Q-E no matter what, however i fear adressing this point since riot will just nerf them further to "make the other evolutions more apealing, this will separate the good Kha'zix from the great Kha'zix"
3)Role, snowballing and viability
as i said before Kha is FORCED into jungle and FORCED into an assasin's buildpath, this is a simptom of FEAST OR FAMINE however we're missing the FEAST part of Kha, even when feed kha'zix is only moderately good, let's compare this to other Feast or famine champions
Rengar: rengar flat out counters kha and performs better on EVERY SINGLE WAY their roles and kits are similar but Rengar is just BETTER
Evelynn: She also has invisibility , but Eve? she's the worst right? NOPE she is way more userful in teafights, if you can slow 2 or 3 enemies, you're golden, you did your job, now just go arround spamming Q and pressing E for a double proc of whatever on hit you built, at least you did what you're supposed to do right!?
Shaco: well he suffers from the "no teamfighting for you friend ;)" train but, he at least is a threat early game, his level 3 gank is deadly! what does kha have at level 3? a small hop, a tickle called "Taste their middle finger", a meele skill that deals a WHOOPING 70 + (8X) damage on a 3 second cooldown and a slow that is pure utility, it deals next to no damage and its just a hard to land utility tool
any other jungler is not even worth mentioning as they're all pretty much BETTER thank Kha at their respective roles, even Warwick, he at least gets a secured kill on mid at level 6 and an above average lategame
Give me something okay? i need at least some viability to work with
At least other underpowered champions have a niche where to exist, Poppy gets a great lategame, Pantheon has a lethal early game, Rek'sai has her map pressure, Kha? Kha only has a mediocre assasinating potential and is outshined in EVERY WAY by rengar
