@Riot, It's time to learn about Cassiopeia's Rework

After the Trundle "failure" (as some Rioter said), we were promised that core identities of champions and what makes them feel unique would remain. And you learned from that; Master Yi, Garen, Sivir, Heimerdinger, Nasus, Twitch and Karthus visual upgrades have been one of the most suscesfull, and have been near no complain about them, while Rammus, Skarner, Cassiopeia , Renekton, Viktor, Singed and Maokai Visual Upgrades make the champions to catch up on terms of quality.

Now it's time lo learn about Cassiopeia's rework. It is something nobody asked for, it was rushed, there was no fluent comunicattion between the developer and the community, the developer has been ausent during large periods of time, it destroyed the identity of the champion, dropped both the win rate and the pick rate of the champion, didn't solve anything, and after 3 months of outcry from the community about the rework, nothing has been done but make the problem even bigger.

There are lots of thinks you can learn from this rework, and make sure that doesn't happen this again.

Thanks.

Honestly, that is a pretty horrible evaluation of the situation O-o

A lot of people wanted the rework and the rework made Cassiopeia infinitely more interesting. She actually occupies an ap dps caster role that no other champion outside of maybe urgot even remotely came close to. The problem came from the numbers not being fine tuned properly and taking a back seat to worlds and season 5 changes. Now that season 5 has kicked into sr, cassiopea needs to wait for the meta shift to settle down before her numbers can be fine tuned.

"Infinitely more interesting"

I guess if you like playing pretend World of Warcraft for 50 minutes with diminished power while hoping your lane opponent is dumb enough to let you get stacked up, but Nasus, Veigar, and Sion already exist. Cassiopeia was a fun unique champ that has been demolished by a shitty rework.

She doesn't need numbers, she needs the passive to not be another boring stack fest. How exactly does poisoning your opponent give you power? It should apply a debuff to them, and the AP ratios should be given back to account for the absence of this ridiculous ball of stats we have now. Or just give her the old passive back, whatever. This stacking shit has no place on Cassiopeia.

Except her new passive is actually something. Her old passive only made her spells cost less mana. Cassiopeia didn't lose anything that made her unique on her rework, the numbers on her spells and passive were simply off.

No it isn't. Her new passive adds literally nothing to her and generates absolutely no interesting gameplay. Her old passive generated gameplay and gave ways for her opponents to counter her and find windows to be aggressive while benefiting Cassiopeia's itemization needs. It was an exceptionally well designed passive, but unfortunately everybody at Riot is too stupid to understand why. And yes, Cassiopeia did lose uniqueness from the rework, considering stashu literally stated his goal was to make her play like a regular AD carry, just more tedious, with higher farm needs, more risk, and taking 4 times as long to turn on. There is no saving the rework, and there was no reason for it. The only correct solution is reverting it, but stashu is too arrogant and prideful to admit how badly he fucked up.

Except there isn't a single mid ap champion that plays anything like an adc carry. No champion comes close to fulfilling the role new cass provides. Even urgot, who is the closest comparison, plays extremely differently. Her new role is far more unique and interesting than just another caster.

"I play like a more tedious version of an already existing entire class" is not unique and interesting. Old Cassiopeia was far more interesting because she wasn't utterly reliant on one skill that is nothing more than an autoattack you have to push a button for every half second. Also your claim that "No one comes close to filling the role Cassiopeia is being terribly shoehorned into and is also not in any way suited for, let alone actually filling" is trivially false too, because Ryze, Azir (when he isn't bugged to not work), and with very little stretching needed, Zyra all already exist and do that exact role way better than Cass does.

This isn't something that can be fixed with number buffs, and attempting to do so would have a result way worse than the complete lie they claimed they were trying to fix with this garbage. The correct solution is scrapping the whole rework and reverting her. Period.

I would rather have a passive that doesn't limit my power. Get this, Stashu cut her ratios to compensate for this pants on head retarded passive, only to give it back with the 30% boost at full stacks. Her new passive is the literal definition of nothing, it is the "work for what you could previously do" passive, and it's just awful design. She is weaker at all parts of the game except for the end where she's about the same or just marginally better. Compare this to a passive that actually helps with her mana, notice how often she goes oom without it, Stashu brilliantly decided to not touch the mana costs when taking away the thing that justified those costs, yeah, she lost a lot, and stashu has no intention of listening to anyone who isn't completely drinking the kool-aid for this atrocity.

I'm particularly worried that he's going to do something incredibly stupid like make her E have no or a negligible mana cost or something because he's shown that he has no clue what the actual point of her old passive was (but then everyone remaining at Riot is too stupid to understand anything about mana, as they've handily shown). Yes, with her old passive you had to occasionally waste casts or eat a few casts at greater than 50% cost, particularly early, because that was the point. It wasn't just "Have some free mana", nor was it remotely supposed to be. Do you burn a cooldown and some mana and give your opponent an opening to keep your passive up, or do you let it drop and count on having enough in the tank that you won't get punished for it later? This kind of decision making was actually interesting and generated gameplay for both sides, and then the passive kept her going late game and let her scale better because she could avoid buying as much mana regen (though of course Riot fucked all of that up with blue buff and the train wreck that was grail). The mana restoration on her E is utterly brain dead, zero-dimensional, and adds nothing to laning while leading to her having enormous problems with mana late unless she sacrifices badly needed AP (because of her trashed ratios) to get enough mana regen to function, which is now an even higher amount with the nerfs to everyone who isn't manaless in season 5.

I already knew stashu and the people he apparently talks to at Riot were bad designers, but his completely clueless and shallow comments about her old passive just make that even more clear.
