@Riot - Nasus needs some stat compensation for indirect nerfs from runes changes

I suspect that this post will be downvoted since everyone here hates Nasus, but Nasus is relatively weak compared to his state in preseason and prior the rune changes.

Most Nasus players last season began a match last season with 15 to 10% starting CDR in the old rune/mastery system. They did this primarily because of his typical itemization routes to achieve 40% CDR.

Having the starting CDR made a Nasus player, in a low harass lane, able to achieve about 400-500 stacks by about 20 minutes if they use their siphoning strike on cooldown and maxed it out first.

It also allowed Nasus to achieve max CDR building item 3025 and item 3065 or item 3078 and item 3065. Leaving him a suitable power spike at the mid game when he usually comes online as a champion.

Currently, unless Nasus goes runs in the sorcery tree, he has to build three items to achieve the same CDR. He also achieves fewer earlier stacks having lower starting CDR. He has to build an additional item 3024 into item 3800 or item 3110 or he can build another item 3067 into item 3083. Either way the rune change has resulted in a few things that have hurt Nasus's spike.

  1. He has a lower stack pacing at earlier points in the game
  2. Has to build additional items to achieve max CDR

I main Nasus, and I have noticed having to either itemize for CDR or to complete my items. Either way, 500 stacks at 20 minutes is pretty difficult to achieve anymore, and typically I float around 300 to 400 at about 20 minutes. I only can hit 400 in low harass lanes and if I itemize CDR and take the sorcery tree.

Both have resulted in a lower power spike window and him being "outscaled" sooner. With ADCs items being relatively cheaper than in the past his mid game power spike is pretty narrow relative to what it use to be. Another change has been the reduction of some of the flat starting health from rune selection. There is less flat starting health and it scales by level, but it makes Nasus very susceptible to getting poked out of lane pretty early especially in very early levels. I have a few suggestions to help Nasus achieve his power spike

  1. Lower the initial cooldowns of siphoning strike by about 1 second at early levels from 8/7/6/5/4 to 7/6/5.5/5/4. This is probably enough of a reduction for a few additional stacks.
  2. Slight increase to base health or health per level. Nasus with a doran's shield is walking to lane with a little over 600 health. Last season and a bit into preseason he could walk to lane with 750 or up to 900 if he took celestial body. Now, Nasus is easily chunked out by champions with superior level 1s and 2s even if he runs in the full defensive tree.
  3. Make a rune that allows a player to start with 10% CDR - Probably the most problematic solution in terms of balance but IMO the sorcery rune for that 10% CDR simply comes really late. I rather run in other trees on Nasus and then I have to either sit at 30% cdr or itemize with components.

Overall Nasus was pretty strong with the old coin, old klepto, and the talisman of ascension in preseason. However, now he has been indirectly nerfed quite a bit and he isn't that strong of a champion to begin with, rarely sporting higher than a 48% win rate.

Nasus is fine right now imo (being a Nasus main). The new trees especially resolve made him broken for a short while because he could basically benefit of the tree to just not die early where he's supposed to be at his weakest and then scale without problems. The nerfs to resolve base HP and the fact he needs to actually build his 40% cdr or go into sorcery secondary which is kinda meh makes his early game actually abusable, which is the basis on which the champion feels somewhat healthy to play against (you can at least shit on him early, there's a clear window)

Nasus does not need buffs, and his early lane is stronger then ever with bone plating, he is fine.

Nasus doesn't need buffs to his early game.

Or any at all.

Nasus is literally just average in every single elo. He has a 50% winrate (plus or minus 1%) in every. Single. Elo. http://na.op.gg/statistics/champion/ He's fine
