Malzahar's passive and banshee's veil passive
When building BV on malzahar, sometimes both the veil and his passive are knocked off from a single skill. This did not occur in preceding patches and I just noticed it in the patch prior the last one.

If your opponent has scorch, thats why.
His ability hit consumes your banshee's veil, and for some reason scorch is probably still activating on you, causing you to take a source of magic damage from a champion, and thus pop your shield. Either that, or you were hit by an auto at the same time you were hit by an ability.
If I'm not mistaken, that's supposed to happen. It's sortof meant so that you get a free banshees veil. You don't have to purchase it. Does that make sense? I think it would also make Malzahar too strong if he could block two spells in a row.
Correct me if I'm wrong. I don't play malzahar.
