When a champion gets reworked : a question about mastery

can we make it so that the mastery points and mastery level reset for the new champion? especially for champions like akali, urgot, galio, and aatrox. i dont think the player's old mastery of the champion should stay once the champion has been pretty much reconfigured into non-existence.

i do believe they should be acknowledged for their mastery on a champion that has been removed from the game, but if every gets reset then i think that would be fair.

on another note would it be possible to integrate the mastery of an ally's hovered pick into ranked champ selection? i think that would make people less nervous about skilled players playing weird picks.

For the first half of the post, yeah it seems fair.

Second half, note mastery =/= skill. I can be mastery 7 veigar because i got lucky a few blinds games

it takes 20 or so games to reach mastery 5. so it would make it less likely that your ally is absolutely clueless about a champion. and if they are clueless who's to say you cant motivate them by offering advice?

yes there may be player who ban more allied picks, but that doesnt necessarily mean everyone would and i think the information provided would help with champ select strategy. players who are trying to 1st time in ranked would at least be exposed.

so mastery level might not be needed, but maybe a value of total mastery points.

if mastery actually meant something then sure but it really doesn't. All it tells you is that the player in question plays the champion a lot. They could feed every single game and they can still reach high mastery lvls… specially if they play the champion in unconventional roles so they can get easy S ranks
