Not only is she Jam Packed with CC that also does good damage, but she can literally poke the hell out of you and cc like a god. She wins her lane against almost everyone. You can throw your seeds everywhere at level 3, then Q & W and that's a good half of a health bar's worth of damage gone.
Her Utility is great for late game. I feel like she's just so underlooked because her support is average. zyra without cs is terrible, so I condone Zypport.

GankLord1 votesAs a former zyra mid main since around season 3 or 4 I can't remember which after the rework she's only strong early game. Mid to late her damage is so lackluster you'd be better off with going with a different mage. I had to retire her this season after I realized how weak she is and her plants die so quickly that if your not in a area where you have plenty of her seeds ready to pop with Q the only useful thing about her ult is then knock up. They nerfed her after the rework once again taking away her power bow lowering her seed spawn time. If they had extended the duration of the plants it would have been fine but she wasn't compensated for it. It's clear to me that riot nerfed her for the support role she suddenly became so popular in. I'd honestly like to have old zyra back even with the nerfs because at least her ult was still meaningful and her damage better than what she can do now. Riot did what I feared and turned her fully into a support that's really the only place she shines. Unless her numbers change I'm never taking her mid again. It really sucks because she was my favorite champion but now I've moved on to Vi jungle.
PopCorn Chick3n1 votesI mean she can go mid but there are just other mid laners that can do her job better. So she has cc? a slow ass vines that root enemies for 0.75s at lvl 1. Syndra can do that with her E but its speed is hella fast and the stun is 1.5s and follow up with ultiamte = dead = best cc in the game. Zyra Q got nerfed both in damage and ratio and harder to hit because of the new Q shape. Her ultimate is situational and most beneficial when you max E for longer root, and mid Zyra usually max Q first for wave clear and poke... so yup. that knock up not gonna happen. Everything in her kit has a long ass delay to do anything, that's why she's better at bot lane since she needs someone to back it up when she misses her root and Q.
Even in bot lane, at high elo, people know how to counter her effectively. Any sustain/all in champions will ruin her day like janna, sona, soraka, leona, blitz, alistar, even braum (supposed to be counter by her).
