The support item changes are a slap in the face

Supports who wished to have Sightstone built into their support item had the option to do that prior to this patch. The removal of the other set of options is a loss of versatility and flexibility to the game's least popular role. Arguments for the items being better for supports cannot navigate around this fact. These items were available for those who wanted them. Nothing was improved for supports. They simply lost options.

If Sightstone was that much trouble on tank supports, simply remove the damned thing and lower the cooldown on everyone's trinkets. Shift the onus of providing vision away from the support and onto the entire team.

TL;DR: Nothing was added. Only options were lost. This is an insult to support players.

Good. Supports deserve many more slaps on the face for how strong they are. Have you ever seen a MF with a shield bar that's literally larger than her actual health bar? And with said MF having finished a Cleaver, too?

Then how do you ward if you want to get Sweeper?

If anything it opened up an item slot to not be wasted on a pretty mandatory item. The only loss here is the old bonus actives which riot stated will return as their own unique support items.
