What can I do past carrying to win a game?

my last game I went 20/7/7, and still managed to lose the game. Do I need to make smarter decisions, or are some games just unwinnable? I try to motivate my team, and keep them positive and even lead them, but nobody listens to me even though I had 20 kills. Am i doing something wrong?

yes. asking this kind of questions : )Do you have such a low esteem of yourself? "I try to motivate my team, and keep them positive and even lead them, but nobody listens to me even though I had 20 kills". you can't fight retardation,go find some positive teamates.

I'll try, I guess i'll just have to stay positive until then!

There is a certain % of games that you just won't win, but that should never stop you from trying.

I can't really give you specifics on what you should improve as I am on mobile and that would take too much effort, but in general try to find the weakest link on your team early in the game and try to spoon feed them gold. This will raise team morale and help you to see less "bad teammates".

Keep vision on objectives, don't be afraid to spend that 75g on a ward, it could turn the game around even if you just use it for temporary vision over a wall.

I'll have to keep in mind the spoon feeding of bad teammates, I never even thought about doing that.

I don't think there's any real way to not assume the question is rhetorical, since any offered advice is evidently redundant to the player in the end. There's a number of different factors that can lead into the win or loss of a game. Unfortunately, there's nothing that can be said from a random forum poster's standpoint that wasn't actually in the game you're bringing up.

The most important thing to keep in mind though is that we deal with a vast amount of players when participating in a game like this. Despite what would eventually feel like a trend, it's for that reason that we run into a good deal of poor skill handling from fellow players in terms of gameplay or communication, as well as those who seem to just know what to do and when to do it. Unless someone pulls virtual moba genocide and purges the entire community, that's not going to change. All we can do is the best we can, and simply move on if it doesn't work.

Looking in hindsight, the question does seem a little rhetorical, please keep in mind i wrote this at nearly 3 am ^_^

full built vayne AND Gangplank, two late game champions, against your comp thats rough if they had a braincell which looking at all we can look at damage output and KDA they did, and you cant discount the Yi thats just going to run at you.

if your Vs a vayne/GP or like that game BOTH of them if you go to 40mins chances are if they have a braincell or even if they dont but can just position safely your going to get chunked so fast its unreal, that game obviously we cant see this or if you tried it but you NEED to flank those carries and make the fight a 4v5 before you start as in a TF its a straight up loss.

when you have one or both of those champions give yourself a 25min timer, if you cant secure a finish or a finishing position by then, prepare for a rough ride.

Yea. Just Yea. GP was pretty tilted, but vayne was an absolute monster.

Keep your flash and succed a 4 man ult on all their carries, also maybe build burstier you just wanna instantly kill 3 of them if you want to win.

I was a high value target top lane. I had to burn my flash a few times to get away from double ganks, which could have possibly been prevented by proper warding now that i think of it.

At 38min mark, laning phase and ganks are over. Plus the fact you have a movement boots and your protobelt.
