@meddler Ziggs need you! and the immobile mages update is where...
The other day I decided to pick Ziggs, haven't played him in a while and since I like to call him my main mage (alongside Kennen and Corki as adc) I figured why not and to my surprise I found him still strong, damage-wise speaking, in the current meta, plus since I chose him I've gotten better at the game so I was able to do quite the flashy plays.
What bothered me though was that he seems to have the most dodgeable kit in the whole game, I remember when I was able to poke with Q at max range and max bounces, that today seems impossible, perhaps because as I got better at the game so did my enemies. The thing that bothered me most was that I was barely able to hit anyone, so this incredible damage was wasted most of the time.
Poking with Ziggs' passive is basically tempting death, so the best thing you can do is use it to farm once in a while or poke if the enemy overextends.
His bouncing bomb is good damage but using it too much will drain you mana dry, and an oom mage is a dead mage, plus since it's so easy to dodge you better just save it and farm with it but not too much, use it only when the enemy gets close to a minion you wanna kill.
Satchel charge is your escape mechanism but it can do some damage as well, hitting someone with it is a REALLY bad idea since you'll be left without a escape, your best bet is to save it, zone with it or use it to farm ONLY if you're going back afterwards.
His minefield is pretty powerful and the damage from detonating all bombs is amazing, but then again, trying to hit someone with it is not ideal, your best bet is to use the field to zone the enemy out even though the area is not that big. You end up using it to farm mostly, E+Q clears the ranged minions immediately and leaves some bombs scattered around.
Mega inferno bomb is a GREAT and versatile skill, you can steal buffs, steal dragon, herald, baron, help teammates aaaand you can even farm with it, which is nice buuuut at max range you'll barely hit anyone with it. What I love doing is pushing minion waves with it or defending a turret at max range, I've gotten kills from clearing all the minions and leaving the enemy alone in the turret.
So we have a champion that can push incredibly well, not as amazing as maybe heimerdinger but still really great and in teamfights Ziggs shines quite a lot too since, amidst the chaos, all of his bombs kind of works specially if they group up. Now his weakness currently is that he doesn't scale properly, to obtain his pushing power he needs levels and a quite some AP, plus a backbone on Mana regen. Against a Yasuo it's hell, against a Zed is Hell, against an Ahri is hell, Against a Fizz is hell :S pretty much anyone in mid outscales him!
I think that Ziggs fits as an immobile mage but to be honest his kit is so fun to use that changing it would be a bad move :C, I think that he can do with some QoL improvements though like improving the speed on his bounces or cleaning up his autoattack animation, perhaps some damage increased somewhere in order to help him avoid being outscaled that quickly.
What do you think Meddler? Community??
