Lets Have A Preliminary Subclass Discussion!
I think it would be great to have a discussion on what we expect and hope for with the subclasses that will start replacing the Primary/Secondary tags of the past. What champions do you expect where, what champions will need some nudges to fit in the new system, what will the categories and their definitions be? Anything related, really. Skim through the intro and leave a comment, will ya? This threat is a an overview of the new categorization as far as I understand it with the limited information. There's a lot I'm unsure about, so I'm curious to see what other people are thinking.
So, these are the rough definitions as far as I know, but they aren't cut in stone.
- Assassins: Target access, burst, windowed defenses
- Fighters: Tanky, short range sustained damage Divers: Target access, defenses through resistances Juggernauts: High sustained dmg, high target-agnostic defenses, low range/mobility Light Fighters: High sustained damage, high mobility, windowed defenses
- Mages: Enhancers: High-utility, Low-damage, Squishy Pickoff: Reliable or opportunistic target access, windowed threat windows Sustained: Medium/long ranged sustained threat Tanky Sustained: Sustained mages with shorter thread range but also more durable
- Marksmen: Ranged high-scaling sustained damage, taking down towers
- Tanks: Very durable, threat through CC/utility Vanguards: Strong Initiation/target access, lockdown Wardens: Defensive, supportive/protective power, peel
ASSASSINS:

[Notes: I'm not sure if assassins are strategically diverse enough to have subclasses or not.]
FIGHTERS
Divers:

Juggernauts:

Light Fighters:

[Notes: Here's where it started, so these are the most clear! ]
MAGES
Enhancers:

Pickoff:

Sustained:

Tanky Sustained:

[Notes: No supports: Enhancers'll be a low-dmg high utility mage-subclass! But in general, mage subclass details are fuzzy atm.]
MARKSMEN:

[Notes: Like assassins, not sure if they have suclasses. Some are auto-attackers, some casters and some have assassin-esque patterns. ]
TANKS
Vanguards:

Wardens:

[Notes: Currently a master of both subclasses, Thresh could be moved into either subclass, really.]
HYBRIDS:
(Assassin/Enhancer)
(Assassin/Mage)
(Assassin/Pickoff)
(Enhancer/Marksman)
(Light Fighter/Marksman)
(Light Fighter/Vanguard)
(Marksman/Vanguard*)
[Notes: Urgot will CERTAINLY be something else once he's reworked.]
Now climb down the wall of text and comment!
