is veigar good or not?

i like to play veigar. i think his kit is pretty good, coupled with his insane damage. he's actually one of my mains. I've been looking on the internet to get some information about him, and apparently people hate him because of some nerf that i wasn't aware of. now people say that he's weak. i don't play in the ranked games, but rather, the ordinary blind pick pvp games, so i don't really know if he really is as good as i think he is. so the question is: is veigar actually a good champ?

also, thoughts on kennen?

He is amazing to be honest with you! He has high damage, can poke well, strong passive and ult and a really good cc ability. He can b played support or mid and is a great late game carrier. Hes good just squashy. Plus.... He gives you a laugh throughout game with his quotes. "If the tables were turned, i would show you no mercy!" Veigar

I've never lost a game against him in ranked (besides one with a purposeful feeder so that doesn't count) because I simply pick talon or zed and then it's gg yes all champs have counters but he simply can't stand up to ad mid laners especially mobile ones allot of people forget his ult is based off targets ap so against an ad lane or team he loses allot of his burst

Thats because you counted him lol. If you played me and you picked Ahri or even Yas, i would be fed and happy lol.

Very debatable about the yasuo pick and for ahri I don't play her but it seems like she could ult out easily enough with the delay

To be fair, Veigar is one of the few champions it is stupid to pick before your opponent given the high number of popular counterpicks to him.

Which is why I say he's bad but viable if you first pick him your going to have a bad time but if you pick him as a counter your going to blow shit up without a problem

He is awesome as long as the enemy doesn't counterbuild you I play him all the time

Pretty trash. I used to love playing Veigar but now he's just terrible. Why pick Veigar when you can pick almost any other mid lane mage and do just as much damage (Unless the game goes on for 40 minutes or longer) while also having better survivability and more utility than a stun that needs someone else to cc the target in order to use it?

No he wasn't that great before the nerfs either but now he's really not in a, good spot he's very immobile and his stun isn't reliable against assassins you have your ult so you can still blow up a LeBlanc or Kat if they don't insta kill you but against ad assassins your screwed in blind pick or in a counter pick in draft he's still viable but no he's not good

Not really. What the whole ruckus was about is that Veigar's kit was reworked (under suspicious reasons, some would say) and it completely threw a wrench into how his abilities work together. The kit turned into more of a non-cohesive mess than champions who were going to be reworked for this very reason!

My reason for disliking the kit, not the champion, is not due to it's questionable power, but to how not-fun it is. The change just made the kit so extremely lop-sided, and made him into a worse Nasus, AP version. (BTW Nasus being another champion that Riot dislikes and wants to change the kit of, but haven't due to popular affection for him by players)

Riot HAD to nerf his stun. Veiger was perma-banned in Korea due to it being to OP. Veiger support win rate was like 90%.

From your comment, it seems riot hate s everyone whose primary focus is stacking (and can stack infinitely). Nasus and Veigar concentrate o n getting stacks and there's only one more such champ - kindred, and she tends to not focus on it as much as veig/nasus. That's sad cause they my mains :(

Short answer: If you find yourself winning with Veigar, yes

Long answer: Veigar packs what is arguably the best cc ability in the game and absolutely massive burst, but as a tradeoff has a generally fairly awful laning phase. If you have the skill with Veigar to reliably get through laning phase you can hard carry games, but if you're most people you probably get bullied, maybe die a couple of times, and never reach the critical mass needed to murder everyone on the Rift. If you're not sure if you want to spend the effort to master Veigar, unless you absolutely love him it's not worth it; there are plenty of other champions that have higher reward for less effort spent.

Veiger is good. He just isn't OP like he used to be so people QQ about it. The nerf they refer to is his stun. It used to be instant, but now it has the .5 second delay. I think it was a great adjustment since it gave more counterplay to him. He just needs a slight nerf to one of his other abilities and he would be in a very good spot.

Pre nerf Veigar was borderline op when played by people who played him a lot. The nerf made his kit much more situational then it used to be. In short, Veigar is good if you can create the situations he's best suited for, which is much more difficult then it used to be. Compared to many other mids, he requires more effort for be as successful in game.

he's the best counter AP in game. He seems tricky, but if you learn to play him correctly, he's a monster.

Kennen? He is a pretty sweet champ. No mana means infinite harass, and he is a monster in teamfights as well with his ult+zhonya's. And you can play him anywhere as anything (except maybe not jungle, I would need to check that again).

He is in a good spot but it really depends what you are playing against. Veigar is the mage killer and does very well against them while he struggles against assassins. He is amazing if you learn how to use his Event Horizon efficiently.

I have recently been playing Veigar a lot and it seams that nobody knows how to play against him.He is very strong and I kill other squishys with my w.Get him above 2000 Ap and he is unstoppeble.

sorceror1 votes

Get him above 2k ap? How do you manage that, honestly? I only played one game where i actually had 2k+ ap and that game was close too, because they had darius, who could heal at least 80% of dmg that my w dealt with his q plus was super tanky and many other reasons. Usually, when things get dragged, I reach 1000-1500 ap, that's it. So, how do you manage taht 2k? And what's your average stacks in 20/30 minute? or what you consider bad/good stacks for 20/30 min? Also, what's your division? I reached plat with him at the end of s5, though i'm currently only gold. (And i sometimes even lose in bronze, lmao)

He's good, but he has similar problems as nasus - he needs to farm. He's a glass cannon, so if he doesn't have proper damage, he just dies. In games where many end in 20-30minutes this is a problem and I think it's the main reason why some people dislike him. If the enemy has early/mid game comp, you're pretty much screwed.
