New Honor/Cooperative Player Incentive Program

As we all know our community is a little bit on the toxic side of things. Players are more inclined to flaming and just generally having bad attitudes then actually being friendly cooperative teammates, and this is kind of the status quo with many online games. But I got to thinking of ways to tone it down a little and while riot has done a good job of doing so with bans and punishment with the report system they can still do a little better at making our community more of a community; at least i'd like to think so anyways.

So I came up with this idea and now here I am pounding away at the keyboard. The idea is that there isn't much incentive to being a model citizen in league other then the honor system which kinda flopped right? Well with the addition of the hextech crafting bench I think we have a new avenue to explore in the incentive department. Why not reward players for behaving their age and being cooperative rather then strictly just punishing them for being bad apples. I was thinking we could use hextech crafting to accomplish this and also make the honor system just a little bit more appealing to use.

It is my understanding that honor badges are obtained from receiving a large volume of honors while honoring other players over a period of time. What if you also added a bonus to hextech crafting along side this. Make friends list honors worth less then they are, or maybe leave them the same; i'm not too sure how much they are worth but I do believe they are worth much less than honor from strangers. And maybe have a measuring tool that accounts for honors given and honors received no matter what type of honor it is, that communicates with the rewards.

This can be accomplished by assigning a point value specifically for side rewards subtracted by time (to ensure the rewarded player doesn't start becoming more toxic after rewards have been received) fully dependent on given honors and received honors. Similar to honor badges. Maybe the player can receive shorter cooldowns on chests, or an extra chest slot. Or perhaps a reward can be a higher chance of obtaining those sweet elusive key fragments.

I dunno maybe its a bad idea, but I you could kill two birds with one stone here. Make the community less toxic while making the honor system more viable. I am certainly not knocking your efforts so far because believe me when I say I certainly do not envy the job of trying to make an online community a healthy environment. But I just think that maybe this can spice things up again with us solo q players. You would not believe how toxic it gets especially down in the lower elo brackets where most of us are located. Please do consider the idea.
