Mobility regarding Tristana and Ezreal

Now i understand that this mechanic has been in the game since before most anyone can remember. I just don't understand why.

It is simple, rocket jump (tristana) and arcane shift (ezreal) share one thing in common. CC immunity while channeling.

I just want to know why they have to be immune to CC while they channel their gap closers.

In the current meta, CC is incredibly important for locking down Marksmen and other carries. With how much mobility they have as well as everyone else I just don't see how its fair that Ezreal and Tristana cannot be stopped when they channel their mobility spells. Right now it is hard enough getting to the backline through all of the CC and damage that teams have as a bruiser. And with how snowbally Marksmen are nowadays it really bothers me that you cannot even lock them down when you reach them.

I mean these guys can get hit by a blitz grab and still escape it. Mind you, it never made sense to me before. But do they really still need this mechanic now? I feel like ADCs are in a good place right now, with all the builds and tools they have at their disposal and how powerful their supports are. Can we not tone down the CC immunity these guys have? Make the ability an instant cast if you have to at least.

If you disagree with me please give me a reason for this mechanic. But if you are a Tristana or Ezreal main, consider this. Consider how tough it is for other people to do their job and jump you. And how you don't get punished for overextending or misplaying as much as other adcs because of this mechanic. Ask yourself if that is fair before you leave a comment. That's all i ask.

They do not have CC immunity. They have CC override after channelling finishes, and uninterruptible channeling. Most ADCs have mobility without a channelled cast time, by contrast, and are stronger at dodging altogether. Tristana and Ezreal are basically the only carries with a notable delay on mobility. They can also be hit at the very last instant after their channeling completes and be grabbed after their channel (especially Tristana), which means the grab not only completes, but also sets EZ/Trist dodge abilities on cooldown, basically helpless to die in most cases.

Most abilities are uninterruptable. Only abilities that say "channeling" in their tooltip can be interrupted.

Is there a problem with an ability that counters another ability? Morg's shield counters blitz hook too. You want that changed?

They dont have CC immunity. Spells in the game function as once cast time finishes, the spell will cast. Spells like lux R, Ez E have cast times that are shorter than the delay before the ability triggers.

So, if you CC them after the cast time, but before the spell goes off, their ability will still trigger. This has always been the case of spell priority in league, and applies to every single spell in the game. I believe there is a fraction of a second window on vayne Q where you can do the same thing.

Once an ability is cast, its effect will go off. If you CC them AFTER the spell takes effect, what you expect to happen will happen.

In order to "fix" this for trist and ez, you would need to make trist W and ez E instant. Meaning your CC wouldnt have hit them anyway.

btw, if the cast time is instant then, given the current timing needed to "absorb" the CC, the ability will just come out sooner and avoid the hook entirely.

Tristana's jump can be interupted with CC, with Ezreal the only way to prevent him from using his E is to either silence him or to CC chain him.

For Tristana at least, there's a delay because she'd be way too strong offensively if there wasn't. With W resetting on take downs, she'd move around a teamfight way too fast, dodging everything while dealing unreasonable amounts of damage on priority targets, and chasing anyone that tries to get away.

The delay at least means that if she wants to reposition, she'll probably take a burst of damage from your mage's skillshots before her jump goes off. She'll also be a bit slower to get on her next target. Finally, you can see the jump coming in advance and can prepare your cc for where you expect her to land. Had a recent game against a Tristana as Ahri where after my team overstayed, I saw Tristana charging her jump - knowing she was coming straight for me it was trivial to cast Ahri E-Q and one shot her (I was extremely fed).

Irony: CC not mattering and tenacity not mattering, and tenacity not mattering having nothing to do with CC not mattering.

Not sure that I'd say "ADC's are in a good place now."
