I was playing sivir and the opposing support was anivia. I spell shielded her q, I got mana. Then it popped, and I got stunned and frosted and took extra damage from her e. Is this the intended effect? The stun was the part I really wanted to avoid, although avoiding the damage would also have been nice. Is there a way to avoid her stun with spell shield? It is one spell, right?

It has two different spell cast effects, and can actually deal damage twice, so yes, it is intended gameplay behavior.

Anivia's Q hits twice, each counting as it's own spellcast: once as it's travelling through the air, and again when it explodes.
