About "bullying the enemy"

How do you do this properly?

Everytime I see "bully them", I always attack them but I seem to focus less on CS'ing because I feel like I have to keep constantly attacking and attacking them, I'm probably doing it wrong.

Teach me, ol' wise ones.

first of yall be an asshole "these creeps.. are mine" your creeps... lol theyre mine too" "you cant have any" "infact dont even stand near em" you either have have a lead on them, you are flat out better player than them, or you have a champion that is a natural lane like darius an renekton

if you cant deal enough damage that you have to hit them repeatedly to scare them off, they are either too tanky or have too much sustain to be bullied by you or you suck or your lead isnt large enough

the first stage of bullying as I know it...out trading them Renekt and Darius are really good at this as they can chunk abunch of hp without taking much back in return I have played Renekton and in the beginning me and the other guy will just be csing if I notice most of my minions are full health and I dont have to last hit anytime soon, I will go and do Renektons dash->stun->whack em->dash away combo classic shit, does tons of damage you repeat that till they are low and have to back off cuz its not safe

the 2nd stage of bullying as I know it... zoning or establish DOMINANCE you run up to them while they are insecure they will back off, if they dont.. you establish DOMINANCE by killing them if this happens you now have a lead and bullying them will be easier than every anyways... after you run up to em and scare em off, you just sit in front on YOUR minions so they cant get anything punish them if they try to get up close

if they fear you enough, you should be able to cs in peace while the other guy is camping his tower the longer this zoning thing goes, the larger the gap between you and the other guy gets the easier it will get to bully and eventually you can just kill em everytime they come back to lane

You have to be in the right matchup for this to be a viable strategy, is what I would say, and you have to be in the position to do it. Personally, I'm hesitant to give specific advice without having a more specific example.

You should bully when you can get away with it. Good bullying involves a significant amount of damage being dealt, without taking much in return. If you can't threaten a kill after 3 or 4 trades with them, I'd say you're generally wasting your time. It sound like the matchup you're talking about here was a bad one to bully in. If you keep attacking, to the detriment of CSing, and your opponent isn't killed or pushed out of lane, then you aren't really bullying.
