Yasuo Tornado doesn't trigger Grasp of Undying anymore? Bug or no?

Just thought I'd ask because last game I was in it wasn't working with it. From what I remember, last time I tried it before the 7.2 patch it worked just fine. If it did get taken out i kinda understand but still. Cuz then how come Gangplank would still be able to use it? His q acts a basic also...? Not like it matters toooo much, but it is kinda game changer for kids like me who like yas tank. I'll just use courage of colossus, but still. Because if the tornado can still crit, that'd almost imply that is still a basic technically right? Also, I noticed my grasp didn't work with Tytanic hydras active. Not sure if that's intentional, but it'd be pretty cool if it did work with it cuz then I could basic att, q, basic, hydra active, basic, and q again lol. Ez kite.

Yasuo's Steel Tempest, Tornado or not, applies on hit effects (EG: item 3074 item 3748 item 3087 etc) to the first enemy hit. If you hit a minion then you won't proc Grasp since it only works on champions.

Gangplank Parrrlay deals on hit effects also but its completely targeted so he can shoot a champion instead of a minion and always get the Grasp proc when its up if he so desires.

Oh!!! So like, if my tornado isn't a clean shot, that goes directly to the champ then it won't work? I hope that's what your implying. I'll try again to see for sure but. They must of patched it cuz I swear I was still able to use tornado and still have it apply even though it went through the minions. Lol I might as well use bloodlust anyways. I kind of feel like it puts grasp under the water. Not sure as why they'd have the two.. Cuz bloodlust works on minions and champs...

From what I'm reading grasp still has it's advantages, but idk.. I feel like on nasus and xin tank it'd be better since they have built in lifesteal essentially, but it's still kinda hard to say

Yeah don't bother with Grasp on Yas Fervor is way better

yeah I heard you. I was just wondering for those who like trying yas tank. Think of me what you will, i just like to try different builds. It still has its' strengths though. In a very defensive way, but still. People will try to kill you cuz they know you have little dmg which can sometimes fuck them over because before they know it, my team erases them. Plus with courage of colossus , dead mans plate, and tytanic on him, he's actually a pretty husky character. Lol as my courage coolsdown I just wait for my passive and visa versa. Making my wind wall a last resort more so than a first. Again early game he does little dmg, but late game WATCH OUT CUZ i WILL KITE YOU AND YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO DO SHIT ABOUT IT!!! The way i build yas tank is dead man's plate, tytanic hydra, phantom dancer, banshee's veil and/or gaurdian angel, and well.. The rest all depends. Sometimes maw of mow instead of G.A. Sometimes infinity edge if I fee like being nooby and tanky. All depends. Fevor would be nice on yas ad though. I just like to play my yas and yi tanky. It's funny to see how much they try to kill a tank.. Dat yi meditation goes in!! esp with bond of stone as supp. Kite for days!!!

Fervor is the best option for him as I've heard, and as someone else mentioned. Glad I could help you figure out why it was happening though.

Then if I do an E+Q combo, then who gets hit with on-hit effects?
