Some people say that we should test out the plants mechanic before profusely complaining.

Except that argument is totally wrong.

On the surface, it makes sense, right? Only Rioters know a lot about this, and players haven't really experienced it. Therefore, players should try it out before saying this mechanic is shit. However, people can still hypothesize about the effects plants will have on the game. Players have intelligence, but for some reason, a few people don't want others to use it by telling them to shut up and try this new plants thing out.

This is going to be more of a rant on plants rather than the few people that are trying to silence the rest of the community. Obviously, plants have been a matter of debate and a subject of complaining for a while now, so I wanted to let my thoughts out on the subject.

So, plants, eh? Seems really gimmicky and unpredictable. Gimmicky because it's new, which really isn't a downside, but the unpredicatble part. That part makes me worried. The fact that plants spawn at random locations in the jungle, well, few people like RNG. Of course, RNG dragons sure didn't break the game, but games would still be influenced by which dragons you got. I've had numerous times where the enemy team was ahead and managed to get three earth dragons, while when my team is ahead, we end up having two oceans and a cloud. If plants were spawning in set locations instead, then it would greatly improve the gameplay mechanic of the plants due to their use in teamfights. It would definitely make for some interesting moments. However, if plants spawned at random locations, this would result in an unhealthy counter to other players in the game. Even if one gets outplayed, they could use the plants to their advantage and get away using the Blast Cone. Now, even if they spawned in set locations, this would still happen. But since their spawning is predicatble, the opposing team would know when to back off or even use the plants to their advantage.

My other complaint is honeyfruit. Fuck honeyfruit. I mean, the Blast Cone can be negated by flashing over it or something, but I can imagine nothing worse than getting someone really low only to have them break open some honeyfruit and then kill you with that extra hp. So, despite players outplaying another, this can still be negated by the fact that there is free healing in the river. You can flash over the enemy and get the honeyfruit, but the enemy can do the same and flash towards the honeyfruit. Honeyfruit will completely ruin skill matchups and outplays. Don't add this please.

That last sight thingy whose name I don't remember. I'm not comfortable with this ethier. It basically makes pink wards and sweeping lens obsolete due to the fact the enemy can get free vision around objectives, 'nuff said.

Underlying message of this post: plants suck. [zombie-brand-facepalm]

Has no one been paying attention? Plant spawns are not random there are certain places at certain times they will spawn.

They will be deeper in the jungles early game and move closer to lanes midgame. They have specified this soooo much.. They even left maps with colorful dots on them to represent their spawn areas.

Its just another thing you need to account for when fighting people. Just remember kills down win games.. Objectives do. So even if they use a boom plant to get away at low health.. That tower your closest to is now yours to take.

Your whining about RNG and it ain't even that. Its all about adaptability and honey if you can't adapt in an ever-changing game with an ever-changing meta... you may as well be bronze with me.. Get your ass down here..

Just saying..

Being bronze has nothing to do with plants. But since you seem to think it does matter, I'll point out that you are bronze two on this account while I am gold. I personally don't think it has anything to do with rank, it's just that you do, which is why I'm pointing this out. Just saying.

May I ask where you got this information? I could not find it on the post Fearless made.

I believe you meant to say, "Just remember kills don't win games." and yes, I agree with you to an extent. But what about the sight-giving plant that players might use to get vision of dragon? Seems to make pink wards and sweepers obsolete.

I know I'm bronze which is why I said down here. Hahahaha. I'm down there too. I'm just saying if you can't adapt you probably won't climb as much as you would want to.

Sight plants are just going to be another thing you should take into account when securing your dragon. Just always remember to take out their jungler and dragon should be yours. Unless someone misses smite. Hahaha.

As for the plants.. Its on.. Surrender at 20. Here let me get you a link.

You will have to scroll down quite a bit. Its a long ways down the wall of information.

Many people pass things up this way...

There will be a plant discussion. Make sure to read up so you can be well informed.

I may be bronze but I'm a well informed bronze. I'm that player that may not know the best mechanics but I have the Intel.

proceeds to complain about things through "speculation" and never refutes why they should wait to complain

I mean you really shouldn't complain about anything until you try it out. Yeah you can hypothesize what might happen, but that doesn't mean it will happen. Basic scientific method. You make a hypothesis and then you test that hypothesis. If you don't test that hypothesis then all you have is an opinion and by definition opinions can't be right.

So I shouldn't consider suicide bad until I try it? Sorry, one of human's greatest powers over animals is our ability to have foresight based on what we know, and being able to collaborate information to make a predetermination if something is good or bad.

Iceember1 votes

But then how did we determine suicide was bad in the first place? Right, I know! Someone else tried it, someone gathered the data, and then they collaborated and realised that death is a negative outcome that directly results from suicide. That's how you know suicide is bad. Has anyone else played with the plants? Not a lot. And those that have I believe are under a NDA. So how can you determine that this update is something negative if you can't collaborate and gather data on the changes?
