Does duoing count as cheating somewhat?

I keep telling my friend who is playing with a higher elo friend that he just says no higher mmr and other bullshit.

no duoing isnt cheating per say. If it was riot wouldnt of made a solo/duo que

If you intentionally duo with someone with a higher Rank to increase your MMR/Rank, that’s boosting. If you duo for fun or other reasons, that’s fine.

It doesn't exactly break the rules but it can be considered morally wrong I guess because you didn't work as hard to get somewhere I guess

I see where the concern arises, but as far as rito is concerned it's all legal.

For example: i could make a new account with my masters friend and duo solo/duo q to diamond but that would go under the radar [sg-lulu]

Lol no its not cheating itd only be cheating if they played on your account for you. If it was cheating you wouldndt see high elo players making smurfs and duoing with other high elo players to climb faster. Its just the nature of duo que.

Not cheating, but it can make your rank seem more questionably valid.

Like if you duo with someone who is your skill level, then great, teamwork and they're just a friend, no big deal you can climb together.

If you duo with someone who is higher mmr than you because you're much better than your mmr would indicate, and you're carrying just as well at that higher elo, then sure you're just speeding stuff up.

If you duo with someone at a higher mmr than you because they're better than you and they're carrying you through games on the other hand, then that's no bueno and maybe you don't really deserve the rank you got.

I have generally preferred to go solo just for my own confidence sake of being able to say that I personally climbed to my rank and no one can claim that I was just boosted by a duo partner, but duoing is certainly allowed as far as riot is concerned because that's the whole point of them having duoing be enabled.

You are always allowed to play with whomever you like as long as the system itself allows you to queue with that person.

The only thing you can't do is have someone play your account or you play someone else's account.
