Will Teemo ever get reworked into something good? He brings nothing to the team.

Fütanari··43 votes·2,930 views

teemo is the definition of aids in any game and I cringe when i get him on my team and throw a party when he is on the other team. He brings nothing to the team besides some wards and a q that "could" stop a adc in a team fight if he isn't already dead. However he is probably just afk farming anyway like they all do.

Teemo is a meme champion at this point and Riot probably won't rework him until he's last on the visual/gameplay update list. They keep saying many champions "age" are starting to show (Meddler mentionned this about Nocturne recently for exemple) . Teemo is one of the original roster, I've been asking forever if they are even looking at him and never got a reply.

Because having the entire half of the jungle shroomed with a constant threat of split push doesn't bring anything to the team.

WoonStruck5 votes

No, it actually doesn't. Above silver, split pushing doesn't win games anymore unless you have such a massive lead that it doesn't matter what you do.

Divewing3 votes

That's because no one knows how to abuse a split pusher until diamond at least

WoonStruck4 votes

Incorrect. Diamond players would obviously know that you must play around your ADC in this meta.

The only time you can split-push is during fluke wins; ones that you get because you got a really big early advantage that the enemy team didn't properly punish.

Divewing2 votes

Are we talking teemo specifically or just in general?

Jayce Top3 votes

Hes talking just in general. In higher elo he is right, you HAVE to play around your adc. I try to gank bot lane at least every 6 minutes to make sure they dont feed or fall behind. If i just sat top lane split pushing and got inhib at 20 minutes lets say, we could still lose because the enemy ADC is 11/3/5 with 176 cs while our adc is 0/4/1 with 88 cs. Lets say I was 13/0/1 top lane with 168 cs. Id still lose to the enemy ADC because 1 auto does roughly 400-800 damage depending on who theyre playing.

The adc will be able to just 1v5 the enemy team the whole game unless your team has a lot of cc.

The only time I stay in lane and push is if my bot lane is already fed, because then we just need to get map pressure and we win.

First of all, the definition of aids would be multiple instances of support rendered to another, which would actually run in contrast to the point you're making here. Or it would be the definition of AIDS, which is a usually terminal disease. If Teemo is terminal, wouldn't you want him on your side rather than against you?

In any case, Teemo actually does his best work as a support. Always has and still does. He's sneaky and deceptive, drawing the enemy ADC's fire more often than not, and even without any AP he has respectable poke against a squishy ADC, and his blind wins fights if executed at the right time. To be honest, the best thing Teemo brings is the ability to protect his carry.

he does the worst as support. Teemo support means adc never gets one kill.

Karfuss4 votes

Teemo is great at supporting. His insane amount of wards makes bot lane ungankable. You've singlehandedly denied the bottom jungle, and there isn't a chance of getting ganked without you knowing at least 20-30 seconds prior.

And if they're getting kills, they're or you're doing it wrong. His only job is to shutdown auto attacks for the enemy ADC with Q, with added damage. Either you're not last hitting or they're just not support.

The problem with Teemo is that he brings nothing else to the party, besides shutting down the ADC. He is squishy if he wants damage, he has no hard CC.

I love how everyone knows exactly how these will play out. I swear I'm the only player who adapts anymore, so predictable have matchups and build patterns become.

Well if NAsus doesn't rush spirit then he deserves to lose. I always tell garen/nasus on my team to do that if they are against a teemo anyway.

This. Teemo into Nasus is just food for Nasus after about level 5

TheMesa3 votes

as a dirty, disgustingly proud level 7 teemo who feeds on low elo plankton, i love going into Nasus (or any melee, for that matter). I abuse the nasus harder than my uncle does to the welfare system, not even letting him get close enough to the minions to reach level 5. This works 90% of the time, the other 10% is when the enemy jungler turns on their monitor.

He's a damage dealer, and can bring a lot of it. The placement of shrooms can slow enemies and even be used to make a trap on them, his q's can shut down auto attackers, and he just makes the enemy tilt completely. He brings more then you would think.

He brings nothing. 9/10 games with teemo is a lose. One time a teemo brought smite and barrier top lane. he is useless trash. He is either toxic or will feed. I don't know who the hell "tilts" over teemo.

Sozan511 votes

He brings nothing. 9/10 games with teemo is a lose.

Statistics taken from League of Graphs.

Teemo global winrate: 50,8% (all roles) / 51,7% (top only) Diamond+: 51,2% (all roles) / 52,9% (top only)

Damage dealt to champions per game: 26,583 3rd place (only 2 champs deal more damage than him on average per game)

You are entitled to your own opinion of course, but don't try to present it as facts. In reality, Teemo fares decently across all skill levels. Just because you got some shitty one in team doesn't make the whole champion shitty or useless.

Standgrounding4 votes

As a Teemo main I'd say:

  1. He brings decent ward coverage, map control, and land mines.
  2. He tilts. I've experienced enemy Rivens going afk from that crazy troll tactics(poke, retreat into mushrooms, kite, chase, kill). That makes him more relevant in SoloQ
  3. If he gets item 3165 item 3115 his blind will cool down very fast, allowing him to spam nukes/disable adc repeatedly
  4. Landmines make way for Dragon, Baron, splitpushing path control.
  5. On hit teemo with item 3124 shreds tanks.
  6. He does feel very lackluster when behind, and cannot bring much in terms of CC
  7. Doing damage is his job, he's the secondary ADC
  8. Contrary to most opinions, he is good against skill shot mages(Xerath Lux Velkoz ) due to his Move Quick. He does need to know how to dodge though. He is terrible against point and click based enemies, though.
  9. Usually he's picked as a counter to tanks that don't have too much burst, or juggernaughts.
  10. Splitpushing is a tactics to distract enemy from objectives, and your team will be fighting 3v4(or 5v4 and lose inhib probably)

I feel teemo is fine but so many people in lower to mid elos don't take advantage of having him on thier team in the way they should.

Lot of players don't kite to his shrooms and it is infuriating. Be it they are so oblivious to details and lack map awareness. People don't bait a 2v1 to thier stealth teemo so he can get that passive attack speed.

Like in the past I'd singed toss enemies into my teammate's shrooms. Or whatever other displacement I could.

What he brings depends on what he builds; he's actually amazingly versatile. Raw AP Teemo has incredible map control with "3/4 your carries' hp" shrooms all over whatever area you want covered, on-hit Teemo is a secondary carry, providing mid-ranged mixed damage dps which is hard to itemize against. Tankmo is meh but pretty annoying to deal with. The most important thing though: we're in a meta where adcs as a class are busted, and multi-adc comps are pretty popular. Teemo has a _ranged point-and-click "fuck you adcs" button. _ On top of that, his play and win rates are both unremarkable. He's not op, but he isn't garbage either. He's arguably one of the most balanced champs right now.

Skins Project2 votes

Dude you think the shrooms are bad.... ONE Q + GUNBLADE.

It's legit murder.

If TEEMO brings nothing to the team then what's about pure damage like Lucian and Yi? No crowd control and no debuffs

Sad Tyrant1 votes

Not if either of them pick up a frozen mallet. and beside they are meant to be carries. and Luc's W offers vision

Skins Project2 votes

Just a comparison here, not saying your right or wrong, on hit teemo gets frozen mallet, tank teemo can get frozen mallet, tank gets rylais. That's basically the same slow applied, then lucian's W, gives vision, in comparison to teemo traps, which are much more plentiful, and give decent vision and survive rather then temp.

Going on beyond that, to anyone who says, "Sweeper denies the vision value &/ damage" If the enemy team is opting out to get sweepers instead of wards, your denying vision, and you can see when your shrooms disappear, that's still vision. & If they kill your shrooms in a fight, that's not bad, your either forcing them to position oddly, which is beneficial, or your forcing them to walk into shrooms, or hit them which gives you free hits.

teemo use to be a very annoying top laner that turns into a split push threat hard to gank due the mushrooms, now he isnt even annoying enough compare to gnar and rumble

he brings decent splitpushing and strong map control with shrroms that will take 1/3 of your hp

adding blind to the adc meta he can take on eout of the fight for 2 seconds

SanKakU2 votes

Teemo is fine. The buffs they did to the attack damage on Gromp and Krug made his blind more relevant for the jungle. He can solo dragon at level 6, which you generally want your jungle champion to be able to do. He can plant bombs near allied towers to make it hard to dive them, he can blind the enemy marksman in a team fight. He brings plenty to the team as long as you don't banish him to the top lane.

SkyblazeHydraX32 votes

Riot is aware Teemo has bigger problems that they can't fix with simple balance changes, and that he likely is going to need an update or VGU. But while he may not be competitive, he's at least functional and playable, and his graphics aren't utterly horrible, so Riot has bigger priorities.

xelaker2 votes

he brings map control and a blind for ad peeps. sure he doesn't have the pizzazz of new shiny champs but he does bring something to the table

General Esdeath 2 votes

He's more of a tactical champ but the problem is EVERYONE plays tactical in higher elo so it doesn't matter. If you use his ult for damage you're losing vision, if you're using them for vision they may get triggered/swept anyway and you're missing out on damage. He can be really good for doing what Tryndamere Jax MasterYi Trundle do (splitpushing to pressure the map) but he does it in a troll way by blinding, setting up slows, going invisible, etc. Now he's also one of those "build whatever you want" champs. I've seen AP teemo burst people down with Q in 1.3 seconds, I've seen AD Teemo shred people with poison and on-hit effects, I've seen tank Teemo outsustain the enemy (He's a better Aatrox than Aatrox is).

The Deckowner2 votes

Every since they made this version of Oracle trinket, AP Teemo was dead. Any champion who builds attackspeed aka half of the champions he lane against can clear an entire jg quadrin of shroom.

Redhood Mon2 votes

I have a couple of game with "Tank Teemo" on top lane of my team. He really absorb all damage with his global taunt passive. :)

in that game, LeBlanc tried to combo Teemo who has item 3027 item 3065 item 3091 instead of focusing on ADC&MID.

Envonyx2 votes

Teemo is able to poke down the enemy top laner and constantly split push and stay alive using his shrooms to have vision of the map. Also knowing how a full ap teemo could deal more than half of the ADC's hp with 1 shroom is also very useful. He can 1v1 most adc's with ease unless it's a twitch or tristiana who just out ranges him completely. He is very useful. A good split pusher with strong map control and decent 1v1 against AD champs. Cry more

Jerry SeinfeId2 votes

The only reason he aint doing well is because traps in general are crap rn.
