so i was told by a lot of people that gold elos really toxic and they don't listen to your pings because they all think they are "good players" but so far that's not the case the games I've played so far have very little to no toxicity they listen to pings more so then silver and they understand the game alot better then silvers have i just not seen the dark side of gold yet?
You're right, mid-silver is the hell
Gold is a particularly non-toxic metal! Silver however can turn your damn skin blue.
Mix with my exp and opinions from others i get the opinion on the whole thing:
Bronze: A joke Silver: Clown fiesta mixed with new players and smurfs Gold: Fairly chill with non new players for the most part Plat: Good players but too cocky Diamond: Clown Fiesta because of match making mixing diamond players with master/challenger player.
Feel free to correct me if i am wrong in any of these areas.
Silver is terrible, gold is pretty good, then back to terrible with platinum and it's even worse in diamond.
I feel like most people are leaving out bronze because half the crowd is watching too much Lifetime and eating dorito's to get toxic.
I think it's just shock when it happens that makes it stand out. Toxicity is something we expect in certain MMR traps- bronze 5, mid silver, plat 5, diamond 5.... but the truth is any player can have an ego / an issue. I have seen plenty of Diamond players, whilst not typing, either soft-int or intentionally miss-macro by afk-splitpushing, which is still toxic. Higher elos tend to be more protective of their account / ranked rewards, so they'll keep it out of chat.
I've experienced a few gold teams that don't listen to pings / strats, but I think they're equal in that with other players. It's shocking when it happens though, because you expect a good player to listen to a good suggestion.
Gold has always been the most laid back rung of the ladder tbh. Platinum has generally always been the most frustrating and rage filled range.
Honestly Plat 5 is one of the worst. players who have great mechanics and decent game knowledge, but do not want to listen to anyone else because they would be diamond if it wasn't for their shitty team. I am climbing through Plat now and honestly players are Toxic as hell although every now and then I get a team who doesnt flame and we can pull together for a win from behind.
