Is it me or is bronze much better

Than what is typically thought of it? I'm a bronze vet here, with hundreds of games in this hellish elo, and I've seen it all here,an yes I'll concede to most of us bronzy n00bs being toxic asf, when I watch and see what's conceived in someone's mind when they think of a bronze player, they think of this player that is indescribably worse than reality.

Let me take you through my frame of reference. I've played with against people of skill levels ranging from b5 to diamond. I know just about every mechanic and tricks in the book (most, I'm still bronze, an educated bronze, but bronze, mind i also said know of), and when I say a lot of bronzies down here are actually pretty good in terms of mechanics and knowledge, I know what I'm talking about.

That said, I acknowledge the fact a lot of us also are... plainly bad, ranging from mere decision making to knowledge and beyond.

Yes, I know bronze is the place most people who generally don't know a lot about the game end up in, but it seems either the skill level of bronze is higher than before, or I'm just facing the cherry of the bunch, or, theres a huge misconception of bronze as a whole.

No sorry, bronze is a place full of bad players; plain and simple.

I would know because I used to be bronze (now plat 3) the skill difference between a bronze player and a plat+ is so high that it's insane.

Also bronze players do not have good mechanics or game knowledge, having good mechanics and good game knowledge takes you to plat-diamond and great mechanics and game knowledge takes you further.

Forget Plat, the difference between even a low Gold and a Bronze is so high that it's insanity. And low Golds have absolute shit for mechanics and game knowledge in general.

These guys aren't even legit Bronze, these Bronze 5s have dropped waaaay below the Bronze 5 threshold of 850 Elo closer to zero. A Silver 5 player with 1150 Elo is 1000 Elo above these guys.

You are correct. They are some really good Bronze players. What keeps them in Bronze is that they go on tilt due to all the trolls and idiots. It's hard to play consistently when you are mad as hell because you played a great game and your team threw by going for Baron with 3 guys and no vision.

Nothing keeps you bronze except your skill.

It is ridiculously easy for a gold+ player to carry themselves out of bronze even if they had a terrible ELO start.

You might not realize it now, but bronze isn't good at all.

It's true, bronze IS bad, but I think it's wrong to state most bronzies are as bad as the aforementioned example

Bronze isn't good, that's the problem. There are players that are so horribly bad that there is no way to carry them. I have played multiply games as good as humanly possible and still lost. I'm talking leading everyone in CS, gold, kills, assists, and having the fewest deaths. There are some teams that cannot be carried by anyone. Anyone who says different has obviously never played Bronze, which is fine. If you were able to place high enough in the initial placements, good for you for avoiding the hell that is Bronze.

I went from Bronze 4 0 LP to Silver 4 without a problem on my smurf. At one point we had a Braum that raged and decided to intentionally feed by walking down midlane every time he spawned.

We still won the game by a landslide.

It is very rare you actually encounter a game in Bronze that's uncarriable.

My experience through the ranked system is that the higher divisions of a tier typically have more skillful players than the lower divisions of the tier above them.

B2/B1 > S5/S4 S2/S1 > G5/G4 G2/G1 > P5.

The lowest I've been is Bronze 2 and the highest I've been is where I'm currently at (Platinum 5, 100 LP).

I think the reason for this is because of the way the system is set up in that it is very hard to get demoted from the fifth tier, though certainly possible. I remember the worst part about high gold was having low plat players with mid gold MMR that were on tilt.

Silver 5 was definitely the worst I've experienced and I definitely feel that Bronze 1 and 2 players were a lot better than most in Silver 5.

I would say a lot of bronze is better than silver at least. It is really easy to just start playing this game get to level 30 win 5/10 placements and get silver.

I think there are a lot of bronze players who are good. They may not have been good when they first started on rankedz but they've now played enough to get good. However because of it being elo hell they can't get out.

umm, i can't imagine what you think good mechanics and knowledge would look like, but it's not in bronze because having either really good mechanics or good game knowledge is enough to climb out of bronze and having both, you can climb fairly high.

my own mechanics aren't that high (sometimes they are really good, but i still tend to make a lot of mistakes and i would need a lot of practice to fix those still), my game knowledge though isn't too bad, but there is still more i could know like ability cooldown on normal abilities on champs that i don't play and I'm sure there is even more.

i think most likely, you might be facing vs players that weren't as toxic or that worked together better, or the cherry of the bunch as you said at your rank.

I think some are missing the purpose of my thread which is to state most bronze players are no where near as bad as say, the bronze players featured in bronze moments from machinma realm.

No where did I state bronze is actually good as a a whole, their bloody terrible, just better than whats perceived.

the bronze plays are often at 100 or lower mmr. at your mmr, it's about 500 higher so i suppose this could be true, though I've seen a lot of 600 to 800 mmr and while it's not as bad, it's still fairly bad.

"and when I say a lot of bronzies down here are actually pretty good in terms of mechanics and knowledge, I know what I'm talking about."

this is also what you said which is why people are commenting and saying bronze is bad.

Honestly, I disagree.

Bronze is so bad that you can make anything work, and I mean anything. You can most likely carry a game with AP zed (ludens and lichbane) in a bronze game...... only thing that can benefit from this build is autos lol

Im not even trying to be mean, I look back at my bronze days and I can recall how little game knowledge I had and how I knew close to nothing about this game despite hundreds of games.

Don't forget Nashor's tooth and Wit's End.

But yeah. Bronze is extremely bad. If you're stuck in bronze it's because you're bronze.

Honestly i know what you mean, but you are wrong it's not the "bronze players that are better" it's alot of elo boosting and people deranking their accounts. i have a plat 2 friend who has a b4 account .. he destroys every game goes lets say 24-2 and then loses. it's not the bronze's that are good it's the smurfs and derankers.

What if riot added a system where. When a player looks at a champ in there champions page. A pop up should show how to play that champ(when they have power spikes, what kind of build paths you can take, what other champs synergies). The skills page should go into more dept rather than a basic overview. (how to hit them, good choke points for ults, walls that can be jumped with that skill) Also add an additional video called "mechanical abilities" or something like that where you explain there special mechanics.(animation canceling, skill combos) Using the api we can tell what champs are in the meta. then use that info to update there current "role" With this we can target videos at jungler champs on "how to smite" videos, or send a video to mid champs on good warding spots.

season 4 i started out b5 with minimal ranked play i got myself to s3. Between b5 and b3 i lost 1 game then lost baout 1 game a rank until silver.

Unless it's a smurf, you're not going to see a good player in Bronze.

If a player had at least average mechanics and/or game knowledge they would be in high silver / low gold.

That is it plain and simple.

Having a great KDA vs other bronzes and knowing better than other bronzes doesn't make you good. It just makes you better than most bronzes, which in full honestly is iincredibly easy to accomplish.

with how much worse this game has gotten it could be possible, I used to be able to carry with ease and had less toxic team mates but in Seasons 4 and 5 it's ridiculously hard nowadays because people are dropping elo when they suck or they get carried to where they don't belong and ruin the games of others.

if ur playing the game for fun it matters a great deal what elo or rank you are in........... i think the lower rank you are the more fun you will have......

lower ranks/elos try different things..... they do different things, its not all the same old reliable boring shit.......

it can be exciting and new... meanwhile the higher you go it becomes more reliable and consistent.... = boring..... u KNOW when "x" happens then "Y" will follow... as it is the most reliable follow...

make alts...... play chaps u would never play otherwise.... do strange and different things... the game becomes so much more interesting....

actually that's incorrect, in diamond people do whatever the hell they want and you can find anything

in lower elo they stick to the "meta" and bitch about anything that's off meta

How to climb to atleast Gold, probably Platinum:

  • Play a small champion pool. 2/3 champs per lane will be enough. You don't even have to play mid, it's never open anyways.
  • Get good at CSing. They're the highest gold income. Kills are mainly good to be able to do objectives or make your enemy miss farm. (this means you should PUSH the lane into the turret whenever enemy lane died and their jungler is not there/you still have an escape. And push under turret doesn't mean "kill 1 or 2 minions and B". It means kill all minions in lane ASAP, and if there's a new wave coming before your wave is in their turret range, clear that one aswell! If your clear is too slow, ask your support/jungler to help if they are there.
  • Know where to be lategame Too often have I seen, even in platinum, that players are at the wrong place at the wrong time. I'm not talking about "omg there was a teamfight why u farming bot!!". No, if this happens, the fighting teammates are in fault because they should've tried to disengage a 4v5. What I mean is that if a minion wave is approaching your turret, you must make sure that someone is there to clear the wave. Run towards the lane and PING your team to be careful. Spam ping if needed. When you arrive, clear the wave and the next one, until the minions are pushed as far as possible. Usually over the half of the map, or until where you have vision. Don't overextend when your team is not around. Summarizing this point in one sentence: **Look at your minimap **atleast once every 2-3 seconds when you're not fighting.

Bonus tip: Assume that the enemy team is grouped. If you see one, don't expect it'll be a 1v1 fight. There are more in the fog!
