@Riot Is Taric officially gay?

I actualy don't give a single flying fuck about Taric's sexuality, he could be a straight chick magnet and get laid every night I couldn't care less.

Yes, people do have different ethics and cultures. Should homophobia be part of them? If you ask me, no. should we do our shits in order to not offend people who live in homophobic cultures? no. That's all I'm saying.

Not to mention that honestly, the character's sexuality is none of our business. Yes, a gay character would be cool, but champions are made legends because of how much ass they kick, not because of what they do in the bedroom. Making a huge deal out of it is just annoying; it's not like Riot has an official page on which champions are dating who so it's not like there's some inequality here. Homosexual individuals don't act gay, they don't live gay, they aren't defined only by their sexuality.

And what happens if Taric isn't gay?

If it's relevant to the story, maybe we'll hear about it. But trying to get this specific nitty-gritty detail out of Riot comes across as pestering. We heard that Illaoi had some shenanigans with GP before, IIRC, and there's some teasing with Braum in one of her lines. But it would be absolutely shit storytelling if Riot supplied unnecessary details. Taric having a romance with Ezreal or someone? Yeah, relevant. Taric being a badass warrior on the battlefield? Who he sleeps with is irrelevant. Unless he takes a page from Garen's book.

But yes, the obsession is annoying. Details like these (is Taric gay or not?) should come up naturally in a story, not be paraded around (because, let's face it, there's probably at least a dozen gay champions and it's really not any of our business) like it's some special thing of note.

Being gay is NOT a choice. Why would people in islamic countries "chose to be gay" knowing that they could get killed for it? In fact, why would ANYONE chose to be gay? Why would you chose to not have childrens with the person you love, be looked down by some cultures and members of the society and why would some people try to act straight for like half their life, marry a man/woman and then come out because they just can't stand acting up their whole life?

I agree, being a feminine, flamboyant man doesn't mean you're automatically gay. So what he's not gay, it's not the end of the world. There are many games out there (Overwatch!!) who have confirmed homosexual characters. Representation is an important thing to be completed, but also breaking the societal rules of masculinity is important as well. If Taric was gay, that means that all of the supports would either be female, gay, or not really gendered (Thresh and Blitz) so that would make the support Champions, sadly, fit into the "girly, needs a strong man to carry, and submissive" group. I'm not saying that them fitting into that category is good, in fact I hate it, but adding a male, HETEROSEXUAL champion into that genre helps break that stereotype. (Leona helps too) and so I really hope that we can realize that 1) Riot will probably make a gay character in the future 2) it's not that big of a deal that Taric isn't gay, he helps with breaking the patriarchal, heteronormative society we live in.
