I for one am fine with Aurelian Sol

To be perfectly honest, complaining about his powerlevel is like complaining about thanos or the living tribunal, or the spectre or galactus or whatever high tier being in comics or fiction.

Lore =/= Gameplay

And as for him fighting other champions in lore, maybe there's some specific ability or magic or item that panth and co use to take him down.

It is entirely sensible to point out the poor writing in comic books.

Batman is only kept relevant in DC by poor writing. There is no reason for him to exist in a world with heroes like Superman, Flash, Wonder Woman, or Green Lantern. They could literally do more for Gotham in a day than he has done in his entire life.

Aurelion Sol is similar.

Also, what you're describing is a deus ex machina. It is very difficult to make a deus ex machina resolution satisfying to read or watch. If there were some artifact that let Pantheon take down Aurelion Sol, anyone else using that artifact could easily conquer all of Runeterra and smash every foe they might have with contemptuous ease.

And this, my good sir, is why we aren't fine with it.

It nullifies the tension that smaller characters face. Yes it's bigger, but bigger does not mean better. It trivializes the tiny slice-of-life conflicts, so if Riot goes back to the smaller conflicts in detail (which they probably should) then they all appear so inconsequential compared to this BFD who destroys fucking stars. Surely there are more things than destructive power when it comes to characters after all.
