Matchmaking Stole me a Game (yes and with proof)

My team: Teemo - silver 3 (he has a 45% win rate with Teemo and takes exhaust + ignite! wtf really?!!!) Graves - silver 2 Kallista - silver 1 Taric - silver 1 Talon (me)- gold iv

Other Team: Ashe - silver 1 Irelia - gold 4 Twisted Fate - gold 4 Vi - gold 3 Blitzcrank - gold 4

Can anyone explain this? This was during the evening when many people should be on playing. Theres no excuse for this poor matchmaking. Imagine a guy playing in Diamond attempting to climb to Master. And he keeps getting platinum players on his team while fighting mid to high tier Diamond players. It doens't matter how good you are that is an unwinnable game from champ select.

silver 3 to gold 4 is essentially the same player. probably 5% better. the gold 4 player's bad game is the same as the silver 3 player's bad game, their great games are the same as well. Just the consistency to which they have good/bad games is different.

Rank ≠ MMR.

However it does make me wonder about that particular match.

I decided to check their previous seasons just to see if maybe the mmr made sense.

While you had a previous gold and previous plat.

The enemy team still had a significant mmr difference with 3 previous plats.

So I have no clue how this was even close to a fair mmr match up.
